Build 78 of EWA has been released. You can download it here or on the wiki.

This has also been rolled into the GBPVR 1.3.7 release available here so if you install the new release no need to install this update....it is baked in.

Big Grin

Date: 2008-11-01 Build Number: 78 Changes:
  • UncleJohnsBand: Add delete button on programmes that are in an available status within Manage Recordings.
  • whurlston: Add Statistics page info via XML document service page.
  • UncleJohnsBand: CSS General Notes:
    • CSS Note: To access CSS based screens use guide2.aspx as your start page.
    • CSS Note: CSS screens are coded in strict standards mode. This will make future updates easier and provides the best cross-browser (Firefox / IE) compatibility. However, this also means that the CSS sceens will only be fully supported by IE 7 and FireFox. Some screens will not work correctly in IE6. Sorry.
    • CSS Note: CSS screens are optimized for screens with 1024x768 resolution or higher. Lower resolution will just cause more scrolling on some screens.
    • CSS Note: Please post feedback/bugs in the EWA CSS Guide sticky thread located in the EWA support forum.

[EDIT1]Yep, I tried Login.aspx as well as Manage.aspx - NO GO
[EDIT2]So I downloaded the WIKI standalone version and it works now, but I don't know if it is the 1.3.7 install that doesn't work, or just my system.

I found that the 1.3.7 upgrade unchecked the "allow service to interact with desktop" in the properties of the GBPVRrecordingservice service. Checking this again fixed the similar access problem I experienced.

yea...sub had been playing around with auto-enabling the check to remain set when you install GBPVR but it didn't work out for this release.

Let me know if checking the "Allow Service to interact with desktop" does not correct the issue.

This was in the 1.2.13 Survival Guide so I guess Sub needs to include it again in the 1.3.7 survival guide.
Quote:Web server on Vista
This release has the problem as 1.2.9 before it, where Vista users may need to go into the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services, and view the GBPVR Recording Service properties to tick the 'allow service to interact with desktop' checkbox. If you dont do this, the web server may not start.

PopcornHour users keep in mind the web server is used for streaming files, so this means you too.

This is all I get when I try to access the guide. I seem to remember this problem long ago but don't recall what caused it.

Very strange.....it is as though your browser is not recognizing the .aspx page as a web page and doesn't know how to render it. Did you try the open with option and point it to firefox?

A second machine just tells me it failed to connect but in IE7, I get this:
.NETÁSystem.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Tcp channel protocol violation: expecting preamble. at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpSocketHandler.ReadVersionAndOperation(UInt16& operation) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpServerSocketHandler.ReadHeaders() at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpServerTransportSink.ServiceRequest(Object state) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.ProcessRequestNow()

When pointing to FF, I get the same basic error message.

I did check that but found (for me) it worked only after the manual EWA install.

I am thinking that something hapened to your .Net 2.0 install on the machine......did you run anything that would have uninstalled .Net 2.0?

You could uninstall and then re-install .Net 2.0 and see if that fixes it.

You could also try deleting all the files in the ASP.Net cache located under:

Code:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\gbpvr
