Ok, I'm kicking myself after accidentally deleting the 1.3.7 thread from earlier in the day... so here we go again. Appologies to everyone who had a post in the thread that was deleted. (I was fiddling with the server clock and created some problems)

I've uploaded the new 1.3.7 release to http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR10307.msi

As with past releases, if you dont already have them, you need to have .net 2.0 or higher installed, as well as the updated Microsoft runtime from http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip.

If you're upgrading from a previous release, I recommend you backup your gbpvr.db3 and config.xml files just in case anything goes wrong. Post any problem reports in the Support forum.

My day job has been keeping me busy, so this isnt a huge release, but hopefully there is something in there for you.

From the change log:
Quote:- this release includes a few more tweakable skin settings. The blue skin is mostly unchanged, but to show a few changes I included an experimental skin called slick, which is loosely modelled on xmbc 'Aeon' skin (showing different main menu style, different layout in Music/Video/Picture library screens).
- added ability to record multiple channels from the same multiplex with same digital card. This is only possible when you're using the 'TS Mux' option.
- encrypted dvb transport stream recordings now contain enough information for offline decrypting to be possible (with tools like TSoffDec, OfflineCSA etc).
- picture library caching of thumbnails to disk is now enabled by defualt for quicker access
- changed netradio screen to get it working again after recent changes to the shoutcast website.
- minor change to the way web radio streams are played, to work around problems that occur when people use plugins that use functions provided by WMP (for example, conflict between WebRadio and CDRipper plugins).
- added ability to play ITV HD recordings
- updated internal TS reader to cope with H.264+AC3 streams generated by the new HD-PVR firmware
- improved logic that help app know that analog and digital sides of some devices couldnt be used at the same time (HVR2200/2250 etc)
- made a change to the way .MP3 playback works to allow it to play a wider set of files, including those embedded cover art which previously were unplayable.
- added small tweak to get audio side of HVR-2200 working.
- made a slight improvement to the way the file list scrolls of the bottom of the screen on the PCH/NMT clients
- added experimental support for Hauppauge software encoder analog devices, like analog side of HVR3000 etc. You need to have the Hauppauge SoftMCE software installed for this to work.
- added a minor improvement to auto aspect ratio control during DVD playback
- fixed a problem where some conflict recordings couldnt be deleted
- fixed a bug where turning down the volume could result in it going to 100% volume after getting to 0%.
- added the ability to click the video window in the 'map digital channels to epg channels' window to give a large view. Clicking again will toggle back to a small window.
- improved digital tv scanning to make the config window remain responsive during the scan.
- fixed a problem with the capture source order not being set correctly in the database on some new capture sources
- added option to pass FLAC/OGG to mvpmc without transcoding.
- added ability to pass config to mvpmc so that configuration via share is not required
- added logic to cope with bad xmltv files that have end-time prior to start-time.
- added direct support for gzipped URLs for xmltv file names. This means that, for example, NZ users when setting up their capture sources can set their xmltv file to point "http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/listings-freeview.xml.gz" or "http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/listings-sky.xml.gz" and the app will automatically download/decompress/read the listings.
- added a mechanism for more scanning only certain DVB-S frequencies DVB EPG listings. Should help Dish/BEV users.
- added a context menu in for the capture source channel list with options for 'disable all' and 'enable all' which can save a lot of clicking of the enabled check box for some setups.
- you can now select multiple channels and hit the 'remove' button when viewing the capture source channel list instead of having to remove channels one at a time.
- added skinning support for specifying the number of buttons to show, and offset between them, and background mask, in the horizontal menu.
- improved OSD quality with EVR renderer
- config app mapping screen is now more responsive during scan
- implemented support for automatic offset scanning for DVB-T
- added daemon tools support for .img files
- added logic to retain file list position when deleting a file from the video library
- added PID filtering for the HDHomeRun to improve network efficiency
- and lots of other small bits I forget...

Here is a screenshot of the multi-record feature in use. This machine has one digital card, and is recording 5 channels from it.

Here is a screenshot of the Slick skin menu.

By default it doesnt include any menu art, but you can put your own in "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\media\MenuArt\Default". If you'd like to show specific are for a specific plugin, then you can (for example) store the desired art in "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\media\MenuArt\Music Library". If you have more than one picture in these directories, then it'll pick a new random one every so often.

Here is a screenshot of video library using the slick skin to show some of the new metadata and cover art stuff.

It'll look for cover art with the same filename as the selected video file, but with ".jpg" extension. For example, "somemovie.mpg" would look for "somemovie.jpg". If that isnt found, it'll look for a folder.jpg. The music library will also look for a cover art tag embedded within the file.

For metadata it'll look for the same filename as the selected video file, but with a ".xml" extension. If that isnt found, it'll look for a MyMovies.xml. The format of these is shown below. If neither of these xml files are found, it'll look for an embedded metadata stream on recordings made by GB-PVR.

Code:
<Title>
<LocalTitle>Shrek (2001)</LocalTitle>
<ProductionYear>2001</ProductionYear>
<RunningTime>90 min</RunningTime>
<Description>When a green ogre called Shrek discovers his swamp has been 'swamped' with all sorts of fairytale creatures by the scheming Lord Farquaad, Shrek sets out, with a very loud donkey by his side, to 'persuade' Farquaad to give his swamp back.</Description>
<DataProvider>IMDB.com</DataProvider>
<DataProviderId>tt0068646</DataProviderId>
<Rating>9.1</Rating>
<Covers>
   <Front>folder.jpg</Front>
</Covers>
<Genres>Animated,Comedy,Adventure</Genres>
</Title>

It doesn't solve the problem but I'll try tomorrow once we've switch back to standard time.

I found a problem (it was in the previous version too) when you cancel a recording it works fine but the show stays red. I have to go back to the menu and return to the guide for it be updated.

I also tried to find the values to put in the AnalogHD.ini so the HD-PVR is recording to full quality. Right now it's like 1.5 gig/hour but it was like 3gig/hour before (on another computer). I remember I had changed this file but can't remember the values.

Thanks!

Post any support questions in the support forum and I'll be happy to look into them for you.

Sorry, this file is always overwritten with each upgrade. If you've edit it, you'll need to remember to do redo those edits after upgrading.

I *really* like the Slick skin! Wow!

Now I'm just waiting for someone to write something to traverse my Video Library and hunt down meta-data based on my file names. Big Grin

Oh I wish I could write code. Sad

I hope someone gets this going on the Retro-SVH skin so us blind guys who need BIG letters can take advantage of it too!

I created the jpegs/xml file for a movie I have in my videos directory and switched to the slick skin and it was pretty neat, just too hard to read from the easy chair!

There's interesting behavior when Retro-SVH is used - if the jpeg is titled folder.jpg then it's found and displayed in the menu listing in Videos, but when you go to the directory it doesn't find the image. If you name it the same as the video file then it's not found in the directory listing but is found when you go to that directory. Labeling one copy of the jpeg the same as the movie and one as folder makes both happy though. No description data is displayed though and that'd be my main interest.

Neat stuff, it just keeps getting better and better!!!

Sorry, I know its pretty small, but works well on my big TV, and it probably helps that my eyes still work well.

It gets difficult to show all this info on the screen if you use a bigger font - there is only so much space available, and if you use it all it just looks cluttered.
