Thanks for the multiple channel mux thing. It works perfectly here and will be used a lot.

Had to disable the client but in progress recordings plays fine through the Video Library and you can always use the webepg.

sub Wrote:Sorry, I know its pretty small, but works well on my big TV, and it probably helps that my eyes still work well.

It gets difficult to show all this info on the screen if you use a bigger font - there is only so much space available, and if you use it all it just looks cluttered.

Yeah, I'm kinda behind the curve with my smallish (27") TV. My eye problems don't help either!

It is difficult with a bigger font, but it is doable - the Retro-SHV skin works well and still looks very nice. I need to learn how to make skins and stuff! Years and years ago I used to do some programming (c/c++ & some assembler) so hopefully it would come back pretty easily.

Maybe treating the video library like the recordings menu would be a good idea? i.e. make it so if we click on the video file it looks for the meta data and if it finds some it pops up a box giving us the description info and then asks us if we want to play it or not? Actually the more I think about it the more I think that would be really sweet! It works well for the recordings menu so it stands to reason it would work well for the video library too and with the same interface it would flow nice with the program.

Anyway, I've pretty much got the HTPC up and running now and we're using it to grab our shows and so far so good -> very high wife and family acceptance factor! Smile

The only real issue is that I had it set up on a small stand in front of a big easy chair and in good proximity to the TV while I was working on it and I've gotten kinda used to having a computer there now, nothing like relaxing in a big easy chair while surfing rather than sitting in that nasty old office chair at the computer hutch! I guess I may have to look at a lap top!

The upgrade was quick and easy to do and the improvements it gave make a great product even better! thanks!!!

Steve

For quite a while I've had a nagging issue with pausing and resuming Live TV (with Timeshift Mode.) After rewinding, or pause/resuming it would pause for minutes on end and then suddenly the audio would work but the video would play double or triple speed until it was caught up and in sync with the audio. Well, whatever you happened to have done, this is fixed!!! So if anyone else has been having this behavior, try the new release. You request for donations couldn't have been timed better than right before fixing the only bug I happened to encounter. Thanks sub!

This release has been up for almost a day now and only a few problems posted. I take my hat off very deeply (is that English?).
I think you can leave in a few days with a quiet mind.

Great work sub - just tried the TS multiple-channel record which worked perfectly, so now the only channel my old PVR-150 records will be Prime. I can now also play the mp3s that I only spotted as being a problem yesterday - quick fix! Multiple differing crashes for the Slick skin, but figure that's a work in progress.

As far as schedule padding goes with the multiple channel mux, does each recording think it has sole use of the card? ie if two dvb programs are scheduled back-to-back do they each have full padding now?

cheers,

tieke

They should both get padding.

With the new TS-Mux multi-channel record, we can record more than one channel on a single DVB-S card (if it's on the same transponder).

So... Is there a reason we can't record one channel and watch another?

Thats not possible at this stage.

It'll never be possible for live preview mode (because of the way it works), but I intend to make it possible timeshift live tv to do this - probably in the next release.

I like the new skin. I think adding your own background deviates from the normal cookie cutter appearance you find with most media center software. I added a random pic from my backgroung collection and it looks pretty badass, lol.
