Argh! That update is looking mighty fine. Unfortunately, I've got recordings scheduled and I'm reluctant to update until those are done. *sigh* I knew I should have taken the day off...
Thanks so much for the hard work, sub!

Yeah, loving the new skin.

It'll soon get lost in the thread, but I should mention that from tomorrow I'll be traveling for work the next few weeks. I'll still be dropping by the forums most days, but support from me will probably be at a minimum over that time.
Over that time, I'm sorry if it seems like I'm ignoring your posts. Dont take it personally. Its more that I'm not in a position to help due to other things going on. If I'm answering other posts but not yours, its probably because I have no ideas, or its more complex than I have time available for answering. Good luck!

sub Wrote:For metadata it'll look for the same filename as the selected video file, but with a ".xml" extension. If that isn't found, it'll look for a MyMovies.xml. The format of these is shown below. If neither of these xml files are found, it'll look for an embedded metadata stream on recordings made by GB-PVR. Just out of interest, how would you go about producing the MyMovies.xml? Is it the media center program of the same name? The new skin looks fantastic, will be trying it out over the next few days! I know Sub doesn't do radio, but are we likely to see the return of FM radio at all? It's the thing missing for me from this release, but the rest is great, esp multi-record off one transponder!

Yes you can download my movies and use it to generate the xml file. Just bear in mind if you have all your movies in same folder you'll need to rename the file mymovies.xml to 'movie name'.xml. Hope that makes sense!

Thanks, yes that makes sense. I've been using the moviewiz plugin on and off, but this looks better integration-wise and I'm happier about individual xml files as I've got to deal with subtitles for some movies anyway.

This also generates the correct format - http://code.google.com/p/imdbit/

I'm sure I'm a unique individual in this, but I had been using a program called XBMC Media Companion to generate xml files, but they were not in a format that gbpvr could use.
Since my media is stored on a separate linux server, I created a bash script that would parse all of the *.nfo files that XBMC Media Companion generates and transform them into .xml files that gbpvr can use. Seemed to work a treat. So if anybody else is in the same boat as me (hardly likely) I'd be happy to share the script.

My problem is I've transcoded a bunch of DVDs into files, so I have a "SciFi" folder with movie files in it, e.g. Forbidden Planet.avi, The 5th Element.avi, etc.
Has anyone run across a utility that parses a folder (or even file) and generates the info needed? Or do I need to reorganize everything? |
