Ok so I bought a PVR-350 last year because obviously I wanted a PVR in my computer. Well I chose the 350 because I wanted to have my computer desktop be available even while the machine is recording or playing back. But then GB-PVR comes along and makes my card crash all the time but I like the software so much that I'm thinking of selling my 350 and getting a 250 + an ATI Radeon with TV out. So I'm wondering, is there any way to use the Radeon's Dual display function to have GB-PVR play back on S-video out and NOT also display on the current desktop?

I don't won a Radeon but what you want to do depends on the drivers included with the vid card. Mine, nvidia fx5600, has a dual monitor mode, among many others which theoreticly allows you to specify a secondary output resolution for the TV. I personally haven't had that much success with it but I'm confident it's because I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes.

You ask a good question but a better place to ask that question is likely going to be on a forum for the specific vid card you're looking to buy.
