zehd Wrote:Sorry for not answering to this one. That is normal. You don't need a profile auto selected in ZProcess. When you open a file in ZTranscode though, you'll see "Trans2MVP is the default, and actually can't be changed from default.

Actually, since ZTranscode is the one that does all the work, when ZProcess doesn't have a profile selected and hands off to ZTranscode, ZTranscode uses Trans2MVP as a default.

As far as saving settings, using the ZProcess/ZTranscode settings screen, selecting a profile, changing a setting, and click save, should save to registry.

But at this point we're just using defaults right? (I know you were just choosing a profile and trying to make it stick)

BTW, in ref to other post, do you get that popup when you only use ZTranscode and manually load a file?

YEs, using defaults.

No popup when transcoding through ZTranscode, only when called from GBPVR.

I am having the same problem (the pop up message) as Jerryheynow. For me it only appears when I use my MVP to select an avi. If I use Zprocess or ZTranscode directly, no popup. Everything else appears to be fine.

I am using v. 2.0.293 of Zprocess, 2.1.101 Ztranscode, and GBPVR v. 1.3.7

Attached are my logs

Thanks again for your help

I am afraid I am still getting the popup message. Everything looks great though.

Quite frankly I'm surprised more people aren't having trouble...

I found the problem. Please grab the very latest from the other thread.

I also changed some of the logging to make it a little easier to read...

First test, start ZTranscode, open file, click start, wait a bit (maybe even view it) and then click stop.

Second test, ZProcess, open file, click start... Double click flashing light in systray to look at ZTranscode window. Is it working?

Third test, There is a hidden spot just to the left and bottom of the txtOutput frame. Click it and the output filename gets switched to something that GB-PVR might use. Click Start, how is it going...? This would be a dead giveaway that there are still problems...

And then Finally, go ahead and try something with the MVP...

It seems to work well for me -- no more popup, proper ratio. I think that got it! Thanks a lot.

OK, the tests went fine.

The popup is gone. Excellent. Thanks..

Back to the 4:3 ratio on somes movies.Sad

I need to determine why some play letterbox, and some are 4:3.

This one was working, now back to 4:3 stretch.
Video: DivX 5 612x332 23.98fps 767Kbps [Video 0]
Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 44100Hz stereo 112Kbps [Audio 1]

I was having some aspect ratio issues, and reworked some of the code. Maybe I stumbled on and fixed what you're having trouble...

I mentioned that I fudge some numbers when rounding up or down deciding if something is 4x3 or 16:9

Perhaps your video falls into a black hole of calculations...

I'll take those numbers and see what I can do... In the meantime grab the latest...

You can test the aspect ratio that ZTranscode should be catching... I added another hidden click that will calculate your numbers...

Open any file.... (I suppose even the offending file) Let's say we used something else, that loads and the input aspect ratio shows 2.35:1 or whatever. Now you can manually change the input width and the input height, then click where I scribbled. The engine will change the Input Aspect Ratio to what it thinks it should be. If you do have a file that isn't calculated correctly at this point, then I should know so that I can fudge the math.

You can test the engine against a scratch piece of paper...

x = Width / Height (eg 640/360 = 1.777)

If x > 1.2 And x < 1.6 Then GetRect = "4:3"
If x > 1.59 And x < 2.09 Then GetRect = "16:9"
If x > 2.091 And x < 3 Then GetRect = "2.35:1"

You'll notice that 1.777 is between 1.59 and 2.09 so I will treat this as 16:9

Now, I'm still calculating the real rectangle, and then adding black bars to get the letter box (that means a slightly taller 16:9 will have less black bar...)

---

As with all testing, and new bugs, try with defaults, that means removing All ZProcess settings with the reg, and then start again to reinitialize. Maybe the other testing had stored a choice to lock to screen position after all, and that's messing it up...

Try to manually transcode the offending file and send the logs

Thanks
