For now they are crap yes, but after Feb 2009, once NBC does not simulcast SD along with HD, they will realize the benefits of having 2 or 3 channels at their disposal.
They probably already realize this.
Licensing for one channel frequency, but able to show 2 or 3 streams... $$$

Ok, I have read every post and I think I understand how it work. I record OTA ATSC so I know I will be able to record 2.1, 2.2 & 2.3 at the same time because it is in the same frequency.

If I unplug my antenna and connect my cable tv connection (Comcast MI) then let my turner find clear QAM channels will I be able to record more shows in the "same frequency" at the same time or will I still only be able to record 2.1, 2.2 & 2.3 again.

I have a Hauppauge PVR 1600 card.

Thanks SUB, looking forward to the upgrade! I have been a GBPVR user for 3 or 4 years. I really appreciate all your hard work!!!!!

Well, this is my first post, so Id like to say hi to everyone!! I've just abandoned my XBMC on modded xbox. HD streaming on it was just too much for the old hardware.

I only started using GBPVR about a week ago on a HVR1600 tuner and core 2 duo/xp machine. So far I love it!!! Great work Sub!! I was using the 'AEON' skin on xbmc and I like your adaptation of it. Now if only I could figure out how to pick up QAM channels!!!! Im new to tuners and tv software so Im sure you will see me around!

Cheers!!!

I haven't yet installed 1.3.7 but wanted to know more about the multiple record feature. I'm in the UK using DVB and a dual tuner card and wanted to know how the scheduling of recorded programmes works.

Will a new recording be assigned to a currently recording tuner if that tuner is recording from the correct multiplex (leaving the second tuner inactive), or will it just take the second tuner?

I would like to understand the logic used for assigning a recording to a tuner and predicting conflicts now that each tuner could be recording 2 or more things simultaneously.

Thanks.

It tries to use as few tuners as possible, so will try to use the first tune if its able, leaving the second one free.

When can we expect a new version, would love to use 1.3.7, but I get problems while scanning QAM channels, I tried importing them from previous version but that's a difficult and very time consuming job! I saw blockings while watching HD channels, is everything in place to watch HD channels, or is it still under development ?

New versions come about every three months. This version is about a month old, and no serious issues warranting an early next release, so its probably two months aways.

I'm not aware of any significant issues with this stuff in 1.3.7. I know its not correctly putting '*' next to unencrypted QAM channels in the scan results, but that isnt a big problem.

If you have any issues with scanning etc, post the logs in the support forum and I'll try to resolve it, and will provide patches if necessary.

Sub:

There has been at least one patch to resolve TS reader issues. Is that in the 1.3.7 download, or do I need to put any patches I find in teh forums as well? Downloading today.

Thanks
Chuck

I never update the installer. Everyone has the same version of the 1.3.7 install. If patches are posted, then you still need to manually apply them.
