Gents,

is there a call in the GBPVR backend to run the epg updater and wait for the end?

I stumbled across the IEpgSource thingy. Is that the right place?

Regards

Sorry, the there is no call exposed that a plugin can use to update the epg. The closest you could get is launching "pvrx2.exe -UpdateEPG".

Sorry, the calls it makes behind the scenes arent exposed in the public API in GBPVRPublic.dll, so arent callable by your plugin.

Yeah, I guess so.

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to inject information into the database?

I was one of the authors of the PowerScheduler for MediaPortal.

I'd like to contribute a open-source power scheduler for GBPVR. I know there is SlimmGBPVR, but I want to do something different. You guys will see soon...

Dero

PS. I abandoned MediaPortal because I have the feeling that they're more behind nice-looking features than stability. It's just not getting stable!

@dero: welcome to gbpvr. nice features... you are aware of some possible conflicts? in config, the EPG setting "wake machine" is not only responsible for waking up because of EPG updates but also for setting all waking events regarding scheduled recordings... so basically, if you want to replace that setting for EPG, you'll also have to manage all waking events regarding recordings...

@sub: you somewhere stated recently that waking events are written when scheduling a recording but not deleted when canceling a recording. only when restarting the recording service, all waking events from gbpvr are deleted & the needed ones created again... any chance you could add that procedure i.e. after each recording? either built in or make it an option in postprocessing.bat (pvrx2 & command line option or something similar). i had some recordings scheduled in the middle of the night which i canceled later on. my machine woke up (to do nothing) & was up all night (no postprocessing.bat Wink)
i could restart the recording service on a regular basis, but that would be overkill just to have the canceled recordings wake timers removed...

@K.S.

I am aware of the "wake machine" thingy. Actually, I grab the schedule list and the EPG time to determine when to wakeup.
