Any luck solving this.

I just installed the ML3 beta plugin and am having a similar issue. If I quickly scroll past the "unknown artist" it lasts a bit longer before it crashes. If I don't do it fast enough, the PVRX2 program crashes immediately.

Actually, it doesn't totally crash. It brings up an exception fault "System.InvalidOperationException". If I bring the PVRX2 program back to the front, I can still use it to play music. But if I acknowledge the fault, it crashes.

Hmmm, I've got a higher beta that I'm using, so I'll post that to the wiki. I've been running that for the last couple of weeks and slowly adding functions to it.

With 4,500 tracks I don't get this problem... I'll try to post tonight and update this thread.

I didn't know about your beta, do you recommend I give it a try? Does it now read album art directly out of the MP3 without having to load the external tag-lib stuff?

The beta is slightly less full featured in the GUI than ML2.

But in saying that the backend code for both is shared (the MusicLibraryCommon.dll is the same for both).

As for tag reading, that hasn't changed for a while - this is done from the library I created called Interfaces.dll this uses up to 3 methods for reading tags, and in order from most useless to best is Windows Media Player (only Mp3 and WMA, no tag art), UltraID3 (MP3 Only, embedded tag art, Tag-lib-sharp (most formats and embedded art).

So its up to you, I'm slowing adding the feature to ML3 that ML2 has, like just the past weekend I sorted out the Random playlists regenerating again once the previous one stops...But if you don't use that feature then ML3 might be fine for you.

What was this about the ml2 panels and how does that work? All I really want is to be able to do is play directories or playlists, be able to see the embedded album art and while the songs are playing, have the album art up on the screen with the song title. Currently it doesn't do that (I think it shows the full playlist + album art and then it goes to screensaver - haven't used it for a while so I can't be sure now.)

I tend to turn the screen saver off so I can look at my now playing screen which has a large album art screen.

psycik, I posted this in the community announcement thread, but thought I should move it here. I tested out ML3 about a week ago, and this is what I got:
Just checked out ML 3. It has a couple problems. It keeps taking the song '39 from Queens "A Night At The Opera" and sticking it in other artists albums at random. Also, it ignores the track order check box in the config/settings. That is a deal breaker for me. The whole reason for me to use Music Library is to have albums in Track order. I am putting back ML 2. Also, when set to Artist/Album, ML2 shows the songs as well, and ML3 doesn't show them till you move from Artist to Album.

Actually, all I did was to disable ML3 in Config, and leave ML2 showing. ML@ works fine that way. Any testing you want me to do, let me know.

Files are loaded to the gbpvr\plugins\MusicLibrary3 directory. In there should be MusicLibrary3.dll, MusicLibraryCommon.dll, Interfaces.dll and either or both of the external reader libraries.

The package that you downloaded should have contained all of the paths and directories needed, normally if you unzip that is should make everything you need, then it's a matter of moving that whole lot to the gbpvr directory (as it contains skin files and keymapping files).

Thanks for the help!! I will give it a try.
