ISO mounting and Blu-Ray, HD-DVD

What is everyone else doing as a solution for this? Whurlston I saw your post on AVS alluding to a plugin you're working on?

I hope to have an alpha build later tonight but it depends on how busy I get today.

At the moment I've set up a custom task to exit GB-PVR and run PDVD, then reload GB-PVR when PDVD is closed. But it's slightly clumsy and I'm wondering if a neater solution could be created using the MPC HC filters?

Specifically, I'm using:

1. FileSource (Async) - Comes with Windows.
   
2. ArcSoft MPEG Demux (it's the only one that will expose the HD audio tracks when connected to the Filesource Async filter as far as I know... Cyberlink definitely does it.)
   
3. ffDShow tryouts for audio - Full bitrate DD+/TrueHD but DTS Core only.
   
4. Arcsoft Video Decoder - this one can be easily substitued with your prefered H.264/VC-1 decoders.
   

There are some issues with this method such as branched movies (alternate endings, etc) or movies with multiple files but I'll work them out eventually.

The plugin is actually simple to set up and use. The "difficult" part is going to be making sure your filters all have the correct merit settings so that they load correctly. I'll be doing a fairly extensive writeup on that though.

How do you close PDVD from the remote to get back to pvrx2? I managed to setup a custom task that plays PDVD in full screen and the remote does have limited functionality so I can play the disk, but I'm stuffed at the end for getting back to PDVD without plugging a mouse in!

I'm not aware of any way to close PDVD other than sending <Alt>+<F4> or using a mouse.

Thanks, will give it a whirl once you've had a chance to pull it all together. I'm well schooled in the dark art of merit settings on filters so shouldn't have too many issues there.

Re closing PDVD, I just send alt-F4 which I've programmed my hauppauge remote to map to a button in the irremote.ini. Using a batch file which sits in the background means that it picks up that PDVD has stopped and auto launches GB-PVR to bring me back to where I started.

One other thing that's bugging me though is that no matter how many times I've told XP not to autorun a blu ray disk when inserted, it insists on bringing up an explorer window to show me the contents of the file, which interrupts the seamlessness of it all.

It may be because I've installed udf2.2 in XP to show the contents of blu ray disks which is confusing it?

I just use my Hauppauge remote to send <Alt>+<F4> with the green power button. It's defined in irremote.ini. The definitions for GBPVR and PDVD are separate, so as soon as PDVD gets focus, those definitions apply, and when GBPVR gets back focus, its definitions apply.

Post 2 will contain a list of plugins supporting Bluray folder structures, ISOs and discs (I posted an alpha plugin). Individual m2ts files should be playable in any video plugin after following the above instructions.

I'll be testing the MPC-HD demux filters to see if they can be used. If they don't expose all audio streams, I won't consider them usable (Cyberlink and Haali don't).

I looked at Whurlston's new plug-in and it looks great. I suspect I'll be installing it soon.
