In the spirit of Christmas past (this week) I've had a Dicken's of a time trying to get HDMI to achieve what I showed here http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=15 The good news is I can do this with both component HD and composite/svideo SD.

The purpose of this poll is to find out how important HDMI is to you for enjoyment of your PCH with GBPVR. The option is potentially the status quo for many months.

I chose the SD option, but eventually I will buy a flat screen, so if you go for component I'll need to make sure my new TV has a component input.

Martin,

It has to be HDMI for me - all the cables are plumbed into the wall, and we only just decorated!

Hi Martin, Merry Xmas to you and yours.

2 out of 3 of my PCH's can use Component, one is HDMI wired into the wall. I'm all in favor of as much added functionality at your earliest convenience though. Do you think it will be possible to still use the HDMI in a limited way if you go the component route? Or will you need to disable it completely?

Server: Ci5 2500k, 3GB, Windows Server 2012, nPVR 3.5.7. 2xWinTV-DVB-T USB, 1xWinTV-DVB-T PCI, 2 x BlackGold DVB-T, 1xPCTV290E and 1xPCTV460E on Astra 28.2 E.

I wouldn't want anyone to change their plans since HDMI is easier to wire, so the current interface will be used if HDMI is found. I would expect a lot of people will want to stay with HDMI, I just want to see if there are 20 or 30 people willing to do this to make it worth my efforts.

My main TV has 3 HDMI ports, but only one component which is in occasional use - so I would prefer the availability of HDMI. But if you need guinea pigs then I'd swap over.
Although I'm not a music user via the PCH which seem to get a mantion on the post you refer to.

martin123 I am not looking for guinea pigs I want to see how many people would switch because the felt that it was worthwhile setting up the audio and video connections. I'm surprised given how much you comment on how you like the mvp over the pch that you wouldn't feel it would be worth giving up the component input.

Sorry I guess I interpreted your original comment as a reluctant yes to help with some testing.
