Guide2J only shows shows up until Saturday 2005/04/02 at 2100.

Orginally I thought the information was not downloading correctly from Zap2it. However, I believe that it is running correctly. In the Edit Recording Source the EPG Source is set to Zap2it and all the channels I want are there and those I want enabled are checked. If I click update, the CPU significantly jumps and I receive all of the proper messages
- Requesting listing information from Zap2it.com;
- Procesing Zap2it listings
- Saving new listing and channel information.
It then finishes without any errors.

I must have messed up one of the files that Guide2J requires to display the channels when I was playing with the ChannelIconDownload. I ran the ChannelIconDownload a couple of days and downloaded the logos for ca. It created a folder named AllChannelArt. Although the Wiki instructions state it should have created a folder named allchannelimage.

After that when I first started GP-PVR it started with an installing window. I assumed that it created the stations.xml file. However, that did not happen as it was the original file which had the Channels region = South Floria United States...Therefore I assume that I need to do something to have ChannelIconDownload create the stations.xml for ca...How do I do that?

The program did create a channels.xml with all of my channels and pointed to the AllChannelArt directory for the icons that it could match up to my listings. Per the Wiki instructions I thought that the ChannelIconDownload would copy the icons to the channelimage directory. What do I need to do to correct this.

Most important, how do I get the shows to display in Guide2J past Saturday?

Thank you

Richard

Here is the question that I have to ask first:
Does your listings show in the base TV Guide?

Channel Icon download should not affect guide2j. I also find it fishy that you recieved an installing window message.

Can you run guide2j and send me you log file to jrockintuitive at yahoo.com

Hello jrockintuitive,

I had the TV Guide plugin disabled, I was only using the Guide2J plugin. After your message I checked off the TV Guide in config and found that I did have a weeks worth of information in the TV Guide.

I then tried Guide2J and the weeks worth of listings appeared.

Do I need to have the TV Guide plugin checked off for Guide2J to receive new show information? It ran for a week without the TV Guide plugin checked off. Or possibly by checking the TV Guide the plugin it fixed a corrupt file?

I then unchecked the TV Guide plugin and ran EPG. I looked at Guide2J and found that it only displays shows until today at 2100. All of the other shows were gone.

I then checked TV Guide and viewed Guide2J. The display still stopped at 2100. Nothing I can now do can I view information in Guide2J past today at 2100. TV Guide has no problem displaying all of the information.

Which log files do you want to see?

Please send me GBPVR.exe.log - most likely located at C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr.

Guide2J does not require the TV Guide plugin to be enabled. As for fixing a corrupt file- I doubt it. But you never know.

as for the channel download tool. Stations is optional you can add your stations in the similar form and it will associate that callsign with the known network. It is south florida because thats where I am at. I can help you modify it if you want for your network. However jrock is right, it does not break anything if it does not work.

Hello Jorm,

Thank you for your reply and offer. I would like to be able to properly work the download tool. After I have the icons in AllChannelArt, what should I do next? I.e. how do I do sets 2 and 3 in the ChannelIconDownload utility page? It appears that I need to manually setup the stations.xml file? I have created a TV Channels List.txt file in the gbpvr\media\ChannelLogs folder with some of the stations and call signs that I would like logos for.

First run init then Open up the stations.xml and look in the allchannelart directory.

I think it generates an xml called channels.xml open that up. And look for channels that do not have an image. Then add the callsigns to stations if the callsign is 44 FX just add FX.

The idea is we can have a decent stations list for different areas or feed them all into to a db at some point. The goal is not to have you renaming stations everytime your lineup is rearranged.

You do not have to modify the stations.xml it just allows you to add in your local networks as well.

Richard, the new build, that will be out today, does not seem to have this problem. Hopefully, the new build will solve your problem. Keep me posted.
