I've installed GB-PVR on my Dell PC (Vostro 200, built in realtek sound) with a Nova-T-500 card. At the moment I've got one tuner working, and it's a hell of a lot better than MythTV was (some semblance of functionality in 20 minutes compared to hours and hours for a temperamental mythtv)...

Anyway, Live TV works fine, but pause it, or record something, and the sound disappears. I've got the defilerpak codecs installed, and so far I've tried changing the Audio codec from system default to MPEG, Intervideo for Hauppage and FFDshow (defilerpak stuff) and nothing helps.

GB-PVR plays downloaded videos absolutely happily by the way. I'd be really grateful for any suggestions that could get this working today as I'd like the chance to record some of the christmas telly that I'll no doubt miss (Top gear for a start! Big Grin).

I've had a meddle and it seems that the recordings do have sound when played back in Mplayer classic. I'll set the recordings I want up, and worry about fixing it after christmas Big Grin - my proper GB-PVR box will be another machine anyway, so I can't see much point in worrying about getting this one working absolutely perfect.

In the ffdshow audio decoder settings, you may need to add pvrx2.exe to the list of allowed applications or it'll fail to connect. It comes preconfigured for some apps like WMP and Media Player Classic, but not GB-PVR.

Right. I've now installed the Nova t 500 card in a Compaq PC, with a fresh install of Windows XP pro SP2 patched to SP3. I've installed the latest drivers from Hauppage, and the newest drivers from Nvidia (Fx5200 card)

I've not installed any codec packs, and still have the issue of not having sound on recordings when played back in GB PVR, but the .ts files do have sound when played back in Media Player Classic. Videos not recorded in GB PVR (ie, downloads in plain MPEG codecs) do playback fine through GB PVR. I have no third party muxes installed.

The other issue is that I cannot set up both tuners of my Nova t 500. They are both working, as I've had WinTV and GB PVR running at the same time showing different channels. I'm trying to set them up by selecting Hauppage Nova-T-500(1) and Hauppage Nova-T-500(2) as seperate capture sources. (1) works fine, but as soon as you try to tune (2), the config program hangs and throws the attached .NET error. However, if you set up (2) as the first tuner / capture source, without any others, it will tune happily and show TV . I've also attached the config logs in a .zip.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.

See if this patch helps your missing sound: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=24

Set both of your Nova-T 500 capture sources as device #1.
