Hi,

I've effectively given up on finding a replacement for Music Library (sub's one) that I can get / keep working, but just a couple of requests that would make the default Music Library just perfect:

- Queue-it-up / Playlist feature (something like a jukebox, just for that current session)
- Fast Forward / Rewind

Thanks

Hi,

I decided to do a little mock-up of what I was thinking about. I've attached PNGs inside the ZIP file.

The idea is to use the piece of blank space in the current music library for a bit of extra info on the currently playing track, and the colour keys of the remote for Fast Forward, Rewind, Add to Queue (Playlist), and view Playlist.

I imagine the playlist could be implemented using a special folder which contaics a set of shortcuts which are created by GBPVR and point to the original music file, if not a more sophisticated means. The playlist would have options for moving things up and down the queue and removing them.

To override the playlist, selected another track as normal or press stop. To resume the playlist, view it and select a track in the playlist.

Could also possibly use '*' to set repeat and '#' for shuffle, or indeed icons on the screen.

Dunno if this is a priority or not, just my two cents.

Thanks for reading

There are a number of Music Plugins around, so it's probably a matter of finding one that a) you can get working, and b) closely matches what you're after.

I think both mine, and Music Plugin both support play lists.

Hi, cheers, but I've had no luck getting Music Library 2 to work for me. I haven't tried Music Plugin, might give it a look, but I like the simple folder based navigation of "Music Library".

I think music plugin is mostly folder based. Where as ML2 is DB based.

No, the music plugin is db based.
You can choose a folder view though.
The db makes it fast and I can see my music in the folders just the way I want it.
And the automatic cover download is awsome.

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of database music programmes. The simpler the plugin the better.

Me neither. I used the old Music Library a couple of years and it was OK.

Then the new Music plugin was released and it is just as simple - on the surface.
I use the folder view, so it looks just as ML, but it is faster due to the db.
And I get a lot of extra features I started to miss in the old ML, Playlists, neat automatic album art download, etc.

Using the colored buttons is NOT a good thing as not everyone has them. I totally agree with the first post in this topic, adding simple playlist functionality to Sub's base music setup would be excellent. I have tried all of the music plugins here with some success but really all I truly want is the basic one, controlled using the arrows on the remote and the select button with the ability to build a playlist. I don't even care if the playlist is saveable.
