Hi Folks,

I love the ML2 plugin, haven't gone to the beta version as yet but will soon!

I have alot of FLAC files and wanted to play them on my system. I wanted also to see the Album art and couldn't find taglib-sharp (the site seemed to be down!) But I did find http://wmptagext.sourceforge.net/

This may have been posted before and there is probably a good reason for that but so far, it's added my flac collection album art to WMP and in the default music player.
I have two issues however, Firstly, I don't have ANY (MP3 or otherwise) album art in ML2 (Ver 7.2) and,
secondly I've also edited the config.xml to add .flac to the list of accepted formats in ML2, how do I get them into the collection, I've done a rescan. Should I nuke the collection and scan from scratch?

I hope this is of help to someone, I'm a noob at this so forgive me if I've got something wrong!

Cheers!

I think there is an issue with the 7.2 and album art.

You could try the beta ML3 since I think it includes a newer version of ML2. If so let me know, I should make that the official ML2 version and post it on the wiki. Leaving just ML3 in beta (make sense??)

Perfect sense, I'll be home late tonight and will try to install it then (if it's too late it'll be tomorrow night!) either way - I'll report back and let you know what I find!

Oh, and if you need the taglib-sharp dll I can provide it to you, send me a pm if you want it. . I'm not sure if it supports flac as it's not something I've looked into.

psycik, I can confirm that taglib-sharp supports flac, I use it. Worked pretty well, but I did have to correct some wierd stuff with another program. Can't think of the name, MP3edit or something like that. Problem was some of the songs on an albulm had different genres so it was easy. This weekend I am going to try setting up PVRX2 and music lib 2 with Windows 7. Should be a fun experiment!!

That's good. You're still on the Wiki version - the 7.2?

Hi Folks, installed the version of ML2 from the ML3 beta zip last night and the album art is now there (well for MP3's anyways!).

Flac files show up but no album art for flac so I guess the extended tags software for WMP is not compatible with ML2. I suppose (not being a programmer) it depends on how that bit of software integrates with WMP and is read by ML2?

I'll send you a PM Psycik for taglib-sharp, I'll also start to use ML3 beta on my second client machine to test it!

Thanks!

I think so, but I downloaded it so many times I am not sure!! No ML 3 stuff, but it might be a patched version. Is there an easy way to tell? (The equivalent of help about?) Just checked, the .zip file is dated 10-05-2008. Which one is that?

OK, back again. Windows 7 is really nice. The media center is a little slow, but it does what I would need. I even got it to play Mastrouka files and flac. But, there is a lag in the guide that bugs (press button, count 3 and the page changes. Not used to that.) Tried to get PVRX2 running, and no dice. PVR was OK, but community skin plug in just locks up. Never tried Music Library 2, as I always had a problem with that without community skin.

In explorer view right click the .exe or .dll under "Properties" there is a tab "Version"
Alternatively you can (permanently) add a column File version to your explorer view.
