Is the direct.ini still overwritten when installing a new GBPVR version?
I had to add localized pin names for my TV card and recordings will fail if they are removed.

erik Wrote:Is the direct.ini still overwritten when installing a new GBPVR version?Yes. GB-PVR makes no attempt to backup any changes you might have made to this file. It only backs up config.xml and gbpvr.db3.

Unfortunately I like that file to updated during the release so that users get updated definitions of the capture devices - in case they later add a new device to their machine (generating more support post for card not being recognised).
Its a pity nvidia chose to localise their pin names. I think they're only manufacturer that did this. This makes it hard to justify the time to come up with some elaborate "backup and merge differences" type scheme for this file. There is probably only 2 or 3 users with these nvidia capture cards, and I'm forever short of time. Sorry.

Thanks sub - must be time to kick some more money in the tin, as again, this is the most used piece of software at home behind itunes and explorer. Great work, really appreciate your efforts.

Its also posted in the wrong place. Post again in the support forums, with more detail about the capture device you using, and the capture source you setup in the config app, and someone will help you out.

XP NET framework to v3.5 update, Vista TV Pack, Vista SP2, and Windows 7 are all preventing use of GB-PVR it now seems. Is this becoming a doomed app and should I be looking for an alternative since I don't really be stuck running XP w/o updates just to be able to use GB-PVR...
