XP Pro
Intel 930 Dual Core 3GHz Processor
2 GB of RAM
Nova-T-500 Dual Digital PCI Card

I tried installing your latest DVB Radio Plugin. I did the Lame.ax filter using the BAT and manualy. Installed the service but it wouldn't play. I tried for 2 days, it scanned and found 20 channels but no sound although it was using a whole core of the CPU.

I eventually decided to download the previous version and whey hey, it works Smile

Thanks for the plugin and for the amount of time you spend on making it work so people like me can enjoy it.

EDIT I have three channel logos missing and I can't find a channels.csv file to edit can someone enlighten me?

Well, hats off to you for your perseverance - glad you have it working now. Smile

If you had posted your logs when trying to get the most recent version working, I could have probably pointed you in the right direction. If you still have them then post them anyway and I'll take a look.

The only disadvantage with the previous version is that it won't handle the channels which broadcast in mono (BBC World Service, talkSport, BBC R5L and a couple of others).

You're welcome - enjoy.

The channels.csv file isn't needed for later versions of the plugin. Which three channel logos are missing?

I have reinstalled the latest version and it even causes PVRX2 to freeze on my machine. I have attached all logs.

The Icons that are missing are, BBC 1xtra, BBC R5L, BBC R5SX and BBC Radio 7 (4 not 3) I must be losing the ability to count

Thanks for your help and a donation to the cause will be forthcoming to you and to GBPVR. I love the net, where else do you get this kind of support?

I will now be putting previous version back temporarily I hope didn't realise mono channels didn't work until you mentioned it. Smile

These are the logs from the working version which I have now restored. Thought they may help for comparison.

First - the attached file has renamed channel logos for those BBC channels - they did a re-branding of those four channel names and the jpg files need to match. You could rename them yourself but it would be quicker to drop these four into the gbpvr\medi\ChannelLogos folder.

Second - I can only think the problem with the most recent version is down to your audio decoder. If you start the GB-PVR Config application, go to the Playback tab then, under the MPEG-2 Playback section, click the dropdown box for 'Audio Decoder'. What choices do you have listed there?

Cheers,
Brian

ffdshow Audio Decoder

The plugin doesn't actually try to use the decoder you've specified in that section in Config - I was just curious to see which decoders were available on your machine.

Without getting too technical, the plugin simply allows Directshow to automatically select an audio decoder when connecting things up. It seems (from the logs you posted) you don't have any audio decoders which want to connect for mpeg1 audio. The previous version ALWAYS appears to be using mpeg2 stereo audio - better for general compatibility but that's the main reason why the mpeg1 mono channels don't work.

You could try downloading and registering the MPA Decoder from...

http://www.free-codecs.com/MPA_Decoder_download.htm

Hopefully it will work correctly with the latest version of the plugin. Let me know how you get on.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi

I did that and same result. I have attached logs from attempt. Is there a way I can edit out the mono channels?

Many Thanks.

OK - sorry, I really can't think why that's happening then. I'll possibly have a new version to upload over the weekend - stick with the previous version for the moment.

You'll need to use a SQLite editor to edit "DVB-T Radio.db3".

The mono channels are BBC R5L, R5SX and World Service plus talkSport and Premier Radio. Also note that BBC Asian Net joins R5L overnight so the stream switches to mono - it shouldn't break things, it just sounds like you're listening to 'chipmunk radio'. Big Grin

I'm having very similar problems with the DVB-T Radio plugin. I can happily scan for all the channels and it finds them, correctly assigning the right icon to each. However there is no "Now and Next" data, no EPG and most importantly no sound.

I have installed the Lame filter as mentioned in the Wiki, I have even tried re-installing the plugin but still no sound. I am also getting the PVRX2 hang problem with what looks like the DVBTRService.exe causing all the CPU load.

Please find attached the logs from the DVBTR logs folder. If you need any more logs then I'm happy to provide, just let me know what you want.

Everything else works fine, tv, recordings, dvd's, etc. Just the radio produces no sound... Sad
