Hi,

I wonder if anyone has installed whurlston's Movie Library plugin on their GBPVR server and are able to stream the movies to PCH through the GBPVR interface?

I understand there's limited support for GBPVR plugins through the PCH (at the moment) but am hoping that if this plugin works then it saves me the time (and HDD space) to rip the movie.

If its not possible to do so currently, would it be because of limitations in Syabas' firmware (which means there's a slight chance with firmware update that this could happen) or would there be other limitations that would NEVER allow using the aforementioned plugin through PCH?

Would appreciate any input!

It's not that plugins aren't supported, it is any that require DirectShow graphedit type functionality will have problems, especially any that involve content protection. Certainly there are limitations on most SMP8635 based players playing commercial disks because of Sigma chip (no macrovision) and no licenses which is why a directly connnect USB drive doesn't work. For BluRay there are issues that BD-J, memory and other hardware limites prevent playback. The HDi Dune player to but their prices are 3x the PCH and they don't support mvpmcx2.

You probably could configure and share a DVD drive with the appropriate DVD utilities (I haven't tried) that allows the ISO to open using the standard Video library.

i thought it was because the files are m2ts and they aren't added to extensions list..?
i'm pretty sure there isn't any real processing going on, just list of m2ts to playback using normal internal routines...
similar to "ToNMT' program, which just remuxes the file into ts...
i couldn't get any m2ts to play on PCH...maybe demuxer issue, probably left out by design...

I thought the question was about going through a plugin and not the Video Library. If the contents of any disk can be seen through the Windows files system by the GBPVR web server and streamed via http then they will play on the PCH assuming the disk read can maintain constant read speeds. m2ts is going to be added http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=40588

yeah, even with the plugin, iirc he just gets info about what files need to play in what order, the asks gbpvr to play them with normal play routine, no mucking about with filters, he relies on the filter merit system to steer the right ones in place...only manipulation he does is que them up for playback...decrypting is already done on the fly on even live disks by anydvdhd..
very similar to what's done for mvp with old xdvdmvp...main movie only...

i tried playing one .m2ts back using syabas interface and it wouldn't...
i thought that's why ToNMT *always* remuxes them to real .ts...

but i could be wrong about the workings of his plugin..Smile

if it's just the mux issue,[m2ts to ts] a similar approach to mvp transcodes would be enough...speedy, as it's only changing containers..

i'm leaving out files with HD audio [dtsHD,etc.] as no filters can work with those live just yet..[have to be remuxed and audio converted]

The PCH doesn't do any better or worse with m2ts files than it does with ts files when the contents are supported.
