Hey I am a newbie, and I have tried to read as much as I can before asking. This is my first question because I couldn't find info on it. I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600 with IR Blaster, GBVR is working great and I love it so far. I have a magnavox converter box connected to an outside ota, and it works with the IR Blaster. The trouble I am having is the EPG will have channel 2 listed as only the number "2" so when the blaster runs the converter box reads 0.2 when in fact it needs 2.1. Any thoughts, can I just manually reprogram the physical numbers on all of the channels? My processor can't quite handle runing the coax straight into the atsc side, so the converter box would be my preferred set up.

Any help would be great thanks,

Tony

Yes, you can physically re-number the channels but I'm pretty certain you can't change the number to a ".1, .2" etc. If I'm wrong, please someone jump in and tell us how.

If you go into the config app, then the Channels tab, you will see a column named Channel Numbers (not the Channel Name column). Just click on the number you want to change, it will highlight, then type in your new number. Think about how you want to group your channels before you actually do this though, since you probably won't want to spread channels that you watch a lot too far apart.

This last part may be unnecessary, but I do it just to make sure everything sticks. After you've finished re-numbering your channels, click on the Capture Sources tab, highlight the device you have an EPG Plugin for, click edit, and update the EPG and your new channel listing should be fine.

Did I miss anything gentlemen?

couple of ideas, first, are all the channels you want to watch end in .1? if so easy answer, just add a .1 to end of blaster line..like: {channel}.1 so blasting 002 would become 002.1

if not, you'd have to either edit the database directly, or rename the channels when you download epg b4 importing it...some processing wouldneed to be done by a batch file to add the '.' back in tho..
like say if you knew each major # would only have 1 minor # you could use batch logic to add the appropriate suffix...eg: if %1 == "2" set channel=2.1, etc...
that could be done without any modification...
basically just need to see the list of channel you wish to see...[the real x.x numbers]
