pBS, if you mean reading and writing to disk that is 6 x write plus 4 x read = 10 plus a network http stream. That would be a problem even with multiple disks.

By offloading I meant to avoid comskip while you actually are recording or watching video.

I don't know, I'm hesitant to use the drive at all. I've switched my recordings drive to one I know is reliable. Unfortunately I've only got about 50G to work with until I do some archiving.

This is the first trouble I've ever really had with a HDD. It sucks to think I may have just pissed away a little over a hundred dollars.

they'll come up with a fix i'm sure...eventually..
running in pio mode won't hurt anything, just slow...
unless the symptoms of this are actual data loss, then i'd use something else till i was sure of a fix..
but safest route obviously is to use another disk...YMMV Big Grin

oh and i usually don't count the comskip writes as they are pretty sparse and don't seem to effect throughput..
i record 3 at a time often while i watch...2 hd and an analog to one disk...no problems, but i'm in udma mode..
and even then i use comskip in 'nice' mode and only 1 at a time..[sequentially from a list]
any more and i'd have to split to diff drives or suffer dropouts...

Other than the play nice language in comskip.ini, where would that -n switch go? Since I have gbpvr config set to run while recording, I'm not sure where it would go. I thought that was parallelprocessing.bat stuff but I couldn't find one.

pBS, I'm very interested to know how you get comskip to process one file at a time. Smile

Well, the E2200 certainly helps, but now there's all kinds of other crap going on preventing me from achieving functionality I had before.

Wow, I was much happer with SD. This digital shit is causing problems left and farking right.

I sure miss the old days. I had things set up very well and never needed to mess with it. It just worked.

I kind of hate to say it, but I think I'm gonna give up and try MediaPortal. I was hoping GB-PVR would get better with age but it just keeps getting harder to use.
