My 45 button wintv remote opens VMC not GBPVR

My 45 button wintv remote opens VMC not GBPVR. Once I am in GBPVR it works everthing fine. But if I have nothing open and push the on button Vista Media Center opens.

if you open your c:\windows\irremote.ini (notepad) look for grnpower= in the [default] section. You'll probably see you vmc executable there (sorry I don;t know the name of it).

You can change this to C:\progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\pvrx2.exe if you wish save and restart the IR program.

I think I did what you suggested and it stopped ir remote from running saying it had a problem and windows was shutting it down. I'm including the ini files the with a 1 is the original the other my change.

can't see a lot wrong with that. so after making that change ir.exe fails to start?

Revert to your original one, and see if using shortnames as i put above works better. And just do the grnpower, not the mcejewel

GRNPOWER={run(c:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\pvrx2.exe)}

Thank you both for the help. It took me some time but I was able to find the short name for "Program Files (x86) = "Progra~2" If I had known there was such a thing as shortnames before today it probably would have gone faster
