question about comskip and tanscoding

If I transcode a recorded program will it use the comskip (i.e. will commercials be recorded as well?)

If you transcode a recording, you'll end up with the same content as the original file, just in a different format (and reduced quality). Nothing will be cut out, and if comskip files exist, it'll still try to jump the ads during playback.
