What do you use to encode your recordings with and what is your command line in config.xml to encode with?

Once I got h264 working I'm not gone use anything else, except for those rare occations I need a quick encoding, then I'll use XviD.

I'm very happy with h.264.
Have to admit, though, that I'm not encoding from within gbpvr - using a three-step process:

I use the skiptool plugin to mark the ads and this then calls stattik's mencoder script to remove ads and convert to xvid/2 pass.

I don't do any compression. I just stick with what the broadcaster sends.

Nada - I remux my HD .ts to mpeg2 ps during the capture - but I don't keep anything.

Not much reason to use anything other than h.264 or xvid, imo. Hard to remember the last time I even used xvid.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

I've used xvid almost all the time but have been switching to h.264. Handbrake is very good (nothing's as good as what you find on the net though) and AutoGK is also pretty good.

What do they use (specifically) on the net to make the perfect AVIs that are only about 350 meg per hour of video??? |
