Please make the Recorded Files Name pull-down list wider so the most important part (the program name) can be seen if the path is a bit long. See the Screen Snap from my system. A solution might be to strip out the common part of the path from the list of programs.

By the way, I run into this in many programs with pull-down lists.

I've attached the portion of the xml file for the movie. It may be the wrong showing (the movie was being repeated several times during the 14 days of the download) because I didn't want to take the time to figure the offset from GMT.

Yeah you'd thing a movie made in 10,000 BC wouldn't be considered New, eh?

Well that's actually been like that from my release. And that's why I have to focus on Movie detection. Gerally, Movies won't be new, except as I explore the feature CarpeVideo has suggested (Where it would be considered new as in new to him and he hasn't watched it)

Of course that would mean setting up a permanent net connection to his brain...

I'll be looking at the offset thing again too

And you haven't learned to live with it?

Stripping out the common is good idea

A possible approach woud be to flag all movies with release dates in the current year as "new".

What I end up doing usually is click on one of the choices and then press the END key to scroll right. It is a pain.

Stripping out "unnecessary" parts of the path would the ultimate solution for me. Unfortunately, it's a bit more work for you.

I live with it because it is the cost of having a structured directory hierarchy so it is easy for me to find a particular directory and not have to see a "gazillion" directories when I look at the root of a drive.

I will do a work around where the dropdown will expand on click. I did that with VB6 so Its gotta be possible in .net

Why do you assume that I will break things? Big Grin

Quote:I'm releasing a version soon enough that will disable the UpdateEPG.bat, call the grabber manually and call GBPVR EPG Update all from inside Ultra.
Just keep in mind that some of us may have some of the applications in different directories than are assumed in normal installations.

Quote:And I'm playing with a zip and send routine that will upload logs, settings files and even the xmltv.xml file itself to a common server, where I can download and check...
That should help with debugging. Keep in mind that many users, myself included, would want to see specifically what files and their contents is being uploaded before they would agree to that.

I've updated again. Compare your version number

Now it does auto setup for Schedules Direct or mc2xml users. (I'm NOT forgetting about the other locales)

Whurlston and I are work on improving the new show detection, but I've got something that is passable. A little better with mc2xml than SD so far, but we're getting some where.

I added in Movie detection for SD, mc2xml and Birtles. though you won't see anyting special. It detects and eliminates the Astreix. The Year is still going to be messed up in some cases, that's something the whurlston and I are working on...

Most notably, is another tab TS for troubleshooting. It's going to have a few functions added here and there...

When you folks test, you may want to disable the UpdateEPG.bat for testing...

I suggest,

downloading new xmltv file with grabber (manually)
Running the file through Ultra, commited
Disabling the UpdateEPG.bat
Clicking GB-PVR Update EPG from the TS tab
(You will need to wait a while. there is currently no indicator that it's working or its finished (that's coming soon))

Open PVRX2 and check TV Guide...

When all is good, re-enable the UpdateEPG.bat and shut it down. Check it the next day after night;y update

BTW. Ultra will work with the service Interacting or not with the desktop...

I followed these steps. Since UpdateEPG had already done its daily download I deleted the previously processed xmltv.xml file and replaced it with the xmltv.xml.BeforeProcess.xml file. Then I ran your steps above using version 431.

I noticed the following quirk in a program listing. Note the "null" at the end of the description.

Here is the relevant portion of xmltv.xml before Ultra2 processing:

I get the attached error launching 431. (Error: Reading Registry Value)

I'm then presented with a Microsoft .NET Freamework error message. I have attached screenshots of the error window and Details message as well.
