I am trying to map a generic remote control command (start) which produces ALT-ENTER to start pvrx2. I managed to map all keys to pvrx2 using that as a program setting in the config. However, I am not able to map the "start" key to anything outside the defined programs (in this case pvrx2). I am just wondering if HIP is capable of mapping keys when no programs are running.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

are you trying to map the start button on remote?
'start' as a command actually resides inside cmd.exe [like 'dir'] so can't just specify 'start' as a command...have to use something like:
cmd /c start yourcmd.exe

alt-enter won't start pvrx2..so not sure there..
to map a key that works when nothing is running, add 'systemwide' keys in HIP preferences..
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie
