Because Poor Tom's Dialup is keeping him from joining in on the timely decision making, I've decided that I would add a skip for any record that does not have an "en" for the language. Certainly it's going much faster not trying to query non-engilsh shows... And I can always redeem myself for my French Friends, by turning that back on for them...

... but then, the only time I've used my French since High School is when my granddaughter switches the navigation unit in my car to French from English.

Well I had to do something. Tom's listing is 171,000, and when it started downloading yet another French show, and wasn't getting a hit, I had to start wondering. Maybe that's one of the reason it takes so long for him ---- yeah, that and it's 171,000 records...

Anyway, I was playing earlier with swapping the English description for Desperate Housewives with the French one. All I would have to do is build in some code to fall back to English when a French (or other lang) listing isn't available...

And then there are the other countries that do not have a language attribute at all...

But that is for another day.

Is it a free hotmail or do you pay? I think the free one has a limit on the mailbox size of 2 MB although I could be wrong.

I guess I fined out tomorrow when I get in to work if it got rejected or if I forgot to hit send. :eek:

Tom, if you don't mind, I'd really like to see what happens when you run Ultra at work, have it scan your cache, and auto add the listings to the list. I'd like you to upload that file, before I make a newer master file available...

BTW, is your Tooltips working?

Edit: Tomorrow, when you're updating, all you really have to do is get the records started. It will have purged and updated the lust. Stop the enhance and upload that file now (using the upload button on the cache tab)

I thought my xml file was big with 26,000 records.

Is that for 14 days of listings?

Does Tom subscribe to the Super Mega Platinum service for multiple satellite services? With that many channels available, how many can a normal person view in a 24 hour day? :confused:

It's a good thing we don't still have to use the rotary mechanical dials to switch channels. :p

With Schedules Direct we can configure so we don't download every channel, just the ones we want. Doesn't Tom have that option?

OK Tom, I got your info, downloaded your listings and Ultra is scanning right now.

I have to ask though: Being an Eastern Feed, you you see many more French Channels?

As mentioned before I guess I could do something to handle the french. However I might just prefer to skip over a loanguage other than the default one. At least till things stabilize. Hows' that for you? Comment t'allez vous?

Yes there are a lot of French channels listed but I'm not interested in them. French is like a foreign language to me. I good for "oui et non" and that's about it.

If there was a way of getting rid of them prior to mc2xml grabbing the XML file I'm sure if would drastically reduce the file size.

So if you want to skip French (or other languages) for now, I'm all for it. But I think it might be beneficial to be able to handle other languages in the future.
