USB-UIRT doesn't change channels with MVP but OK with PC?

Hi Martin,

Not sure if this is MVP related or not but for some odd reason, my USB-UIRT (with an emitter plugged into the mini jack) changes channels on my Now Broadband TV box just fine when using my PC, but doesn't change channels when I use the MVP. Remote works fine with the rest of GBPVR on the MVP.

Can you help point me in the right direction to troubleshoot this?
I have tried the various settings under USB-UIRT in the config setup to no avail. Logs should show PC first, then attempts with the MVP. It might be tryng to change, but doesn't actually do it. (except for FTA channels of course).

Its trying to send your three digit channel numbers, but failing to open the device for some reason.

Hmm. So why does it work on the PC? Is the MVP signal via a hub + router (all wired) too slow?

I'm guessing recordings on the PC also fail to change channels?

"recordings on the PC" ? Not sure what you mean? via the TV guide / Live TV it was Ok (should be in the logs). A possibility might be that I have Eventghost running. Will try without.

What I mean was, I'm guessing the MVP was failing to change channels because the USB-UIRT was being used from the system account that is used by the Recording Service. Recordings will use the USB-UIRT from the same account.

Live preview mode Live TV on the PC is different - it is using the USB-UIRT from the local account which is logged into the desktop.

It does seem to have been eventghost, at least in my limited testing so far. It works from both now.

In case this is not the issue, I'm still a bit confused about all the accounts, but is it possible to assign the UBS-UIRT accounts individually if this is what as happening?

No its not, but its worth being aware of the situations which use different accounts, because this has sometimes required people to set things up differently. If its working though, then this isnt an issue you need to worry about though.
