When you unplug do you still have an IP address and is the aTCPIP protocal still loaded? You still have a network it just you have no connectivity.

With dial up TCPIP is not loaded until you start a conection. There is no network set up.

This may be the factor you are looking for.

Also it errored out when it tried to do it's first fetch.

That screen snap shows a channel number that was in GB-PVR database, and wasn't cleaned up.

I'll have a new version in a matter of minurtes from now. It does not try to fetch anything if it is unable to get through to either http://www.thetvdb.com or http://www.epgtools.com. I'd like to see how this catching works for you

When it is working, then run 'fix channels'

BTW, there are some tabs that are hidden now. In order to get them back, you have to manually edit the registry...

you want to go here:

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\UltraXMLTV\UltraXMLTV_Enhancer]
"Beta"=dword:00000001

and then add a DWORD, call it 'Beta' and then set the Decimal value to 1

New Release: 2.0.32090

On Start, Immediately checks for connection to two main internet sites that Ultra requires. Disables fetching if not available.

I don't know if this will work if there is no TCP/IP connection

TomR Wrote:Any suggestions on how to correct?

I realize now that I wasn't all that clear.

First of all, to fix the problem you're having, you need to be sure that you have a good xmltv file, that it was enhanced with commit.

Then your need to 'Fix Channels' That's available from the Channels tabg, which is currently hidden.

To get at hidden tabs, you have to create/edit a reg val outlined in the last post..

Not that I'm biased but I like the new look of Ultra. Big Grin

One question. If we're running it manually, doesn't the Commit checkbox come into play each time? That's why I would have thought it would be on the Main tab rather than the Troubleshoot one. Maybe even have it both places if that wouldn't confuse users too much.

Well I could swing either way, but here are my thoughts. When all goes well, you never run it manually. And I do not want Ultra to be a primary manual tool.

When you are setting up or configuring, you don't need a committed file until you're ready to 'test' it with GB-PVR. And that's where the TS tab comes in. You can grab, enhance, with or without commit, and update (import into GB-PVR) It seems that this is the tab where users would interact. (When run automatically, Ultra auto-checks the commit check anyway.

I understand all that. It's just that once you get past the setting up period, users won't deal with the user interface of Ultra anyways. So, I assumed that the interface is pretty much for the set-up period.

What can users accomplish by running GO from the Main tab? I guess it populates the cache and other files that are used on the cache and Seas/Ep tabs. Is that it? Would they be populated if Commit isn't checked?

I'm only asking to get a better understanding of the Commit other than the obvious that I used it to eventually update the EPG.

The original idea behind 'committing' a file was so that I could look at the output xmltv file, but that the actual file that GB-PVR would be using, should it try to update.

I appreciate your forcing me to rethink this. As pBS said in a different thread, the part that runs automatically doesn't need much of an interface. That's one reason that I have mostly counters on the first tab.

Anyway, I see someone starting Ultra, clicking the Tags tab, Zehd's Picks, a couple of adjustments, click the TS or Maint tab, make sure a file is loaded, (maybe re grab listings) Enhance with commit, Update EPG, look at TV Guide/Listings in GB-PVR. Donate...

And with that order, a person would not need to go, pause, stop, from the main tab.

I have another graphical idea that I'm going to try. You might like it...

I think I see where you are going.

All the stuff from the Main tab moves to a "Summary" tab moved to the right of the TS tab. The only thing remaining on the Main tab would be Donate Wink

The GO stuff would be moved to the TS tab.

Am I close?

Update: Actually, I think you could do away with the GO stuff completely. Right now, the only thing it adds that isn't already on the TS tab is the ability to pause and stop the enhancement.
