So... I'd like to share a story, an aside, a major 'slap the forehead' moment for me...

In the late Eighties, I had just graduated from Radio and Television Arts in Edmonton Canada. I had always loved Science Fiction and Special Effects, and dreamt of becoming the next George Lucas or Steven Spielberg. Alas, my Canadian Content/Inferiority Complex (*quite prevalent amongst Canadian filmmakers at the time) got the better of me. Believing that Canadians would never be making blockbusters, I felt it was better to get something 'visual' under my belt, and then move toward the real movie sets....

I had become quite the technical wizard using the antiquated equipment of the time, breaking into the school, and hotwiring racks of stuff to get an effect that I wanted. The Instructors and Equipment techs all knew what I was doing, keeping a close eye, with a feigned, disapproving brow, and yet they also referred other students and even teachers to me for technical help.

I moved on to be a Video Tape Operator for a local TV station.

One day, I popped by to see my old school, and by pure fluke ran into one of my more important and influential instructors. He said that he was working in Vancouver on a few different TV projects and just breezed into town to get a few things and, what a coincidence...!

"Hey Frank, ever think about moving out to Vancouver? There's lots of work. I'd like to have you on my team. You'd have a lot of fun, and it would be ground breaking..."

I snubbed my nose, saying that I wasn't really interested in making a lateral move. If I wasn't moving to Hollywood, then I might as well stay put. And besides, its a Canadian production... How good could it be?

"Are you sure?", he continued. "We're doing a TV Spinoff from a movie that came out last summer..."

I remember seeing the movie and felt disappointed that it didn't really tell too much of a story. I said, "No thanks, Have fun, Good luck..."

Years later, my (ex) wife tried to get me to watch some of her shows and I got hooked on one. And surprisingly it was made in Vancouver! We started watching the series from the very start and then one day, I saw another life flash in front of me. I saw 'Martin Wood' appear as director for an episode.

In the late Eighties, my instructor was an assistant director on a little thing called Stargate SG-1. He soon became a staple director for the series, and became an influential creative force, shaping both SG-1 and Atlantis. There's no doubt I see his signature on most things Stargate...

And I slapped my forehead...

I just had a brilliant thought.

You should have about 5 different user interfaces for Ultra and each time the user runs it you would randomly present them one of the different interfaces. That would prevent them from becoming complacent and not paying attention to what they are doing and also let them play "Where's Waldo" with each feature. Big Grin

Why should users of the official release miss out on one of our fun activities?:p

I said I wouldn't comment on the UI but.....

The status message you put into the Status area of the Main tab should also be written to the XML File area (just below the buttons) on the Manual tab.

I don't understand what you are asking.

I showed the data for the <program> record because I didn't understand how GBPVR would be able to know what time the program should run because the records no longer contain the offset from GMT. Does GBPVR have that value stored somewhere else and apply it to the xml records when it imports them?

The program start time is in UTC time. GBPVR will use the Timezone setting on your machine to adjust it to the proper local time. This is the recommended way to do things. A properly coded program (which GBPVR is) does this adjustment. Offsets are only really needed if the program can't handle it.

If you change the timezone setting on your machine, you would see that the program start times would change as well (a new epg update might be needed though, I'm not sure).

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought before that GBPVR only had what was in the XML file to use to store the listing appropriately.
