Anyone hammering their head against the wall, may notice that theTVdb.com is acting up

It's given me a test situation to adjust the IsConnection() routine so that it will timeout faster...

Web Timeout only for testing connection to theTVdb set to 1000 ms. And when it reaches timeout, Ultra skips fetch. Ultra still uses old cached data

When connection is restored, Ultra will resume fetching when necessary

Tom, have you changed locations of the GB-PVR folder? Do you have the correct version of System.Data.SQLite.dll in the app folder? Is it the same version that is in devnz/gbpvr folder?

Ultra can't find a viable system.data.sqlite.dll. I don't want you to copy the one that is in the GB-PVR folder.

I've confirmed this on too many machines. Copy the system.data.sqlite.dll file from zip into the app path, if necessary. Something is corrupt...

I downloaded 2.0.3376.41073
Made sure _TagSettings.xml, _TitleSettings.xml, _SeriesIDs.txt and _app.log did not exist.
I copy over the complete contents of the Ultra2-pre.zip file (including System.Data.SQLite.dll) to my USB.
Ran RemoveSettings.reg.
Ran Ultra.

Yahoo!!!! No Errors on start up.

I then loaded Zehd's Picks. Finally, it looks like we do not have to move Sub_title and Description. It looks like you moved them for us. Thanks.

Looks like you added a couple of extra Categories to exclude. (It now includes variations of the original 4).

But I still wondering...how people are going to change the Categories that are excluded if the Cache tab is hidden?

I noticed that the Cache tab changed. You now have excluded the "good, bad and ugly" cache file listing. I forget that actual buttons/tabs right now.

On the main tab, in the status section, there is a message saying it is downloading new SeriesId list. But I haven't clicked 'Go' and it is not actually doing anything.

Now that I have the main screen loaded without errors, I expected to see an _app.log file. But one does not exist.

I'll let you know how the rest goes later.

After I clicked 'Go' it loaded my XML file. Then it apparently was about to start downloading the new SeriesID list (according the the message bar at the bottom). Then I got the error below.

The last entry in the log file (even when set to Nuts) is:
31/03/2009 7:47:18 AM :1> Loading XMLTV file...

I'm unable to continue any further.

Your problem is related to theTVdb.com being down for the moment (if ever there was a time for a frown

Ultra was lumping the IsConnection routine to check pass/faill for epgtools (where the _seriesXML.text files are) and theTVDB.com

Because it was failing, it was unable to download a new master _seriesID.txt. and that made a mess of everything...

New version: 2.0.3377.17563 splits the check up. so that you will get the new SeriesIDS list, but still not be able to download any new xml from theTVdb.com.

As said, Ultra will skip over the shows it can't get new info for (like first run Simpsons, but existing xml will satisfy reruns...

You did not indicate that you deleted your series.txt

I have tested the latest build on a completing fresh install, so that means you have some file corruption somewhere.

Let's take this to the basics. First. I don't know which 'Strings.Left' is causing trouble because I don't have a log. I can see you're getting unhappy about this, but there's nothing wrong. At this point I'm seeing you have trouble upgrading.

So...

Delete everything from Ultra path except xml_cache.
Copy in all files from zip.
Run RemoveSettings.reg.
Run Ultra.
On Tags tab, click Zehd's Picks.
On Manual Tab Pick your XMLTV file (let's hope THAT file isn't corrupt), and click go...

I just did that three more times and no problem (always using your lineup!)

BTW, I'm happy to say that theTVDB.com is back up, and my program knew it and started downloading correctly...

I'd like to request a new feature for Ultra.

I had been experimenting with the Tags and wanted to have it show the SeasEpNum (e.g. S02E05) after the Subtitle so I could see it in the list of recorded programs.

I found that it wasn't showing up too often.

I looked further and found that EpOnScreen (e.g.107) and EpNum (a number only a computer or Librarian - think Dewey Decimal System - could like) seem to be populated by Schedules Direct far more often than SeasEpNum is.

This starts to get messy but, is there a way we could designate an EPISODE tag which ends up being based on a priority list of the three tags (where the user could set the priority order). Ultra would stuff this field with the highest priority episode variation that is available. Ideally, this would be a new TAG in addition to the ones you already let the user choose between.

OK this is what I did.
I went home. Stuck USB in and launched Ultra. I didn't chnage anything. I clicked 'Go' and now it is running.

Any chance it had something to do with theTVDB.com being down?
