Hi,

is there a possiblility to show free diskspace and/or other information in the main screen? I do not want to choose a plugin (and I cannot even find a plugin...)

Well, if you change your mind about the plugin, Video Archiver shows remain recording space available, and it's a nice plugin besides having that.

It's here: http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...eoArchiver
Intel D915PBL with P4 550 3.4 W/1GB PC4200
Seagate 160GB and Plextor PX-716SA DVD SATA drives
DVI via Gigabyte GeForce 6600GT

xrecord does as well. Too simple not to be consumed by other plugins.

Hm, am I the only one who misses the diskspace shown on the main screen?

There is already too much info on main menu. It looks cluttered.

Does xrecord do that based on math, or expected values? The space is obviously true, but I was wondering if it read the actual bitrates and did the math, or used the defaults. I know it won't be 100%, esp w/ a range on.

I can't speak for xrecord, but in the case of the video archiver it does the math based on expacted values. It looks at the recording quality of each scheduled recording and multiples the recording time (incluing the pre and post recording time) by a bit rate value. The bit rate values can be configured in the plug-in settings. The default assumes VBR.

Xrecord does the math too. Based on the bit rates. It doesnt have the pretty pie chart though. Smile

I think a transparent bar showing used space that would match the skin (kind of like the logo) would be barely noticable unless you were looking for it.

Here's a kooky idea: Make the LOGO like a fuel gage. It uses two tones of blue with dark blue at the bottom representing the percentage of available disk space.

Nah, I'm not going to add it to the default skin. Maybe one of the other skin/plugin developers will may something like this.
