Actually, a main way for Ultra to know if a movie is a movie is that there already is a 'Movie' in the Categories.

The MC and SD files I have been working worth all have Movie in Category, yours doesn't. The on,y difference I can see is that you haven't updated your XMLTV.exe program... You're still using 1.68, LewE and I for example are using 1.74

Thanks...I had totally missed the xmltv update (aint broke, don't fix it an all that...I just didn't realize I really was broken!:eek. Updating xmltv solved the problem.

The reason I didn't mind adding the code though was that other Listings providers might not have "Movie" in the category already, Like Birtles/Radio Times (UK)

no problem on the subtitles....it doesn't hamper anything, just would be nice to use that info if there isn't any other...
it seems to add info in description even if there isn't one, and titles are always there, so must just be the subtitles...

hmmm, now i can't get the movie year to show up anywhere...
[tried putting it in desc.] but it doesn't show in title anymore..

what files should i have to clear when updating?

To do a full reset, you delete all the underscore files and run the RemoveSettings.teg

Currently 'Year' will only go one place and that's in the movie title. If you change the To What Field tag (Description) then you could set it back to '-' (hyphen)

bummer, so no options for year tags? can't even set it to use [] around them...or if i set it to use [] in tags tab? ahh,that does work, the year formatting on tags tab does make it into title...

i know it's not easy to make this all work, but i always thought the point of a epg 'enhancer' was to rearrange things how you wanted them, to be able to put any of the data into any of the fields you wished..

i just don't like adding stuff to the titles as it really seems to clutter up the guide display..
but not having the movie year available *anywhere* is much worse...
are there any plans to make movie year available in other areas in the future?

The Movie Title as it is is bacially a copy to default I-XMLTV when I first started Ultra (Haven't looked much at it since)

And this time around, it was to fill the need so I could release. I was going to give it more configurability, but first get then main part working and released...

There is another thing I'm dealing with. One criticism of Ultra 1 was that it was very daunting for newbies.. I know that Ultra 2 has already passed the it looks soooooo easy stage, but I hope it's better than version1.

In order to make Ultra easy for newbies, is to give less choice.

So Anyway, I'm not thinking about adding or expanding features right now. I want make what exists as good and solid as possible, so nebies can download, click Zehd's Picks and be off. And with only a little help, from docs other 'advanced' users or me, change a few things here are there...

The Year tag is reallyl a Date tag that is four digits long. Therefore, if you have 'Date' as prepended to Description, then you should get the year there for movies.

That's something I'm going to look inot now...

Minor point but I think that since Henry Ford was an American, he probably said "color" rather than "colour".

cool, just wondered what directions things were goin in...

really the only thing that bothered me was the "." part, i kept reading the year into the titles and not recognizing them as quickly..but the brackets do the job nicely...
[i find it easier to visually skip the brackets than the .name kind]

i'll try the date thing as it sounds like just what i wanted anyways..thanx

If a new SeriesName or SeriesID is found should it not be uploading the SeriesID files?
I have "auto upload when done" selected and there were 32 New Series IDs (725 No Date and 7 Series IDs). I have logging set to Light.
Does it not show the upload of the SeriesID file in the log if logging is set to light? Or was the upload skipped for some reason?
