Regarding the EPG update. Have you worked with Mediaportal at all? I may be giving it a go this weekend and wondered if the same problem exists in the EPG update functionality used there.

I plan to use mc2xml to grab the data and Ultra to enhance it before letting Mediaportal look at it.

I was surprised to google and find that others were using Ultra for MediaPortal.

Since the tag are just moved into normal fields, there shouldn't be a problem. But I can support it, because I don't have the time for GB-PVR let alone MediaPortal

I was doing some playing around today and got an error.

What I did was I was running Ultra with commit and had all of the default settings other than I selected "Try no data again" on the Cache tab.

This seem to happen at the end of the enhancing but I wasn't paying attention. I'll try to replicate.

I've completed a new routine that is currently only available to beta testers. Could you please test this feature and get back to me so I can release to public

On the SeasEp Tab, click the Rename sub-tab and then click 'rename all'

This will iterate through all your Recording schedule, and attempt to update information that was previously locked. If the rcord points to a file it will rename the file too...

I want this to run at the end of processing. It is a selfcontained function (and currently only manual) and can be run out of context...

PLEASE DON'T PLAY WITH ANY OTHER FEATURE ON THIS TAB...

As mentioned before, after GB-PVR takes a Programme record and makes a Recording Schedule, no amount to Updateing the EPG will update that programme record.

Ultra's only purpose here is to insert the SeasEpNum that may be found AFTER Gb-PVR has created that Recording/Recurring Schedule...

It is non destructive and quick so it can be run a lot and every time, so I', planning on having it the daily Enhnace under 'Tweaks'.

This only for people that like using theTVdb.com SeasEpNum info, and like having it in the Sub_title. It still observes the tag formatting so you can configure thyat under the Tags tab. It does not insert an epnum or EpOnScreen number (because it doesn't have a chance to find a new one...)

Should it be renaming the file as well? Maybe it's not renameing the file since theTVdb.com seems to be down.

Is this to only be done when there is a GB-PVR DB? If so it might be an idea to disable when it doesn't exist similar to the Start/Stop UpdateEPG button on the the Manual tab. Also, should the TVListings/XmltvExtra button be disabled if there is not GB-PVR DB like the other buttons?

I'm not sure how to tell whether this has done anything positive to my data. Below is the log from when I ran it. After doing the "rename all" I updated the EPG.

How can I tell if it made any changes?

I did see that quite a few of the xml files in the xml_cache directory were modified. I looked at a few files for recurring shows and found some records for Season and Episode in them.

On the plus side, when I skipped through the TV Listings I went past the two weeks of downloads and found the Chuck Norris jokes on those days that had "No Show Details".

Rename All seemed to add the SeasonEp number to some of my pending recordings (but I'm not 100% certain which ones were missing it before). The only thing out-of-the-ordinary that I noticed was my Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles recordings were renamed with the show name appearing twice before the subtitle, which makes for a very long file name.

You would not have noticed anything much. I see from your very long log post that it did catch a few shows that were locked off and updated the names.THis is a case of no news is good news.

After pressing Rename All, you do not need to do anything else... at all. It is a completely unrelated feature to EPG update. It accesses and updates the GB-PVR database directly, so it's make real time changes...

It will only rename a file if, it found a new SeasEpNum and has the chance to update the database record, AND the file is already recorded.

So if it found a new SeasEpNum and updated the database, then it would have renamed the file too
