text in picture library

the text (the filename of the picture/photo) is at the buttom of the images that get displayed... I would like to have the text under the image instead of in the image...

is there any way to fix this?

I've atttached two images from the gbpvr wiki page and home page. I'd like my display for photos and video to look like this but have been unable to.

any thoughts on this? How do i get details for a particular video (do i require a plug-in)? For the photos - i'd like everything to be a menu listing, but then only show thumbnails when i click on a folder that contains photos. Almost like a hybrid mode of the "mode" feature.

Would i be able to do this by modifying any of the xml's?

There isn't a way that I know of to dynamically change how the images are viewed, based on folder level vs. file level.
