I just ordered a new Dell PC and I'm trying to figure out whats the best way to transfer my GBPVR setup to it with the least headaches. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My current operating system is WinXP, the new one will be Vista. I will transfer my Hauppauge PVR150 tuner card to my new PC. I use both a NMT and a MVP. I am thinking that I would do the following:
1. a fresh install of GBPVR and then copy the gbpvr.db3 & config.xml from the old pc to the new. Install .net 2.0 and microsoft run time.
2. I would have to download and install any additional skins or plugins.
3. I would copy the mvpmc directory over to the new computer. Setup any shares.
4. I believe with my old system I had to change something in Admin. Services for the gbpvr recording service, so I would have to do that also.
5. In my old PC I was able to play dvd's in my computers dvd drive and watch them on my tv through the nmt. My new PC will have a blu-ray drive so I hope can still use that feature.
To make the transition as smooth as possible I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks!
