Audio / Video sync

I am getting frustrated I have been trying for almost a week to get everything working with MVPs. I am moving my GBPVR computer to another room away from my home theater setup and want to use a MVP. I am using GBPVR 1.3.11 and the mvpmc-20080930 dongle bin with a Hauppauge 1600 using the digital side. All of my recordings are TS files the video is fine but the audio is off. I have read so many post that my eyes hurt and I still can't get it right. Can someone post a setup that works. What dongle bin? What video decoder? What Audio decoder?

Sorry, the MVP doesn't work with digital capture from an HVR 1600 because of AC3 audio. In your reading I hope you came upon my responses to questions on this topic

No I didn't see that post but thank you for some very good info. I am only recording SD does all TS files contain AC3 audio? What other choices do I have?

Typically ATSC and QAM will be AC3, it doesn't matter if it is HD/SD. Ignoring livetv you can consider post-processing files, some people have been lucky. I gave up trying a couple of years ok, because for me it wasn't worth the headaches.
