UltraXMLTV Enhancer Version 2 - rc1

Last night Ultra2 crashed on its nightly processing. I reran it manually and got the same crash in the same spot.

I looked in the XML file being processed and couldn't find a hex 08 or hex 0B character in it.

I've got a Windows XP Pro 64-bit GBPVR server setup and running.

I'm trying to install and use UltraXMLTV Enhancer V2 RC1. I've downloaded and installed it, but when I try to run it, I immediately get an error.

Is anyone successfully using UltraXMLTV Enhancer with 64-bit windows? And/or does anyone have suggestions on what I should do next to troubleshoot?

I'm not sure what to do. I think Ultra is having trouble getting connected to the System.Data.SQLite which is found in the GB-PVR directory. Maybe something special needs to be done to windows to make it happen.

I did a little research on the net and found the following information:

This frustrating error cost me many hours to find out what was happening. You can't mix a 64-bit assembly with a 32-bit assembly. If you change your code to be targeted to 32-bit processors and recompile, then the error should go away. You can find the requirements for your program in its manifest. A good way to view it is with ildasm.exe which disassembles the executable. Run it on the assembly and you will see a link to the manifest. At the bottom of the manifest is something like this (from one of my programs):

.subsystem 0x0002 // WINDOWS_GUI

.corflags 0x00000003 // ILONLY 32BITREQUIRED

If any of the assemblies has "32BITREQUIRED" then it won't work to run it on a 64-bit OS with 64Bit assemblies. Changing the compiler to point to the 32 bit processors for all the assemblies corrects the problem so it works fine on 32 bit or 64 bit operating systems. On the 32 bit systems the program would be installed in Program Files and on the 64 bit Vista systems it would be installed in Program Files (x86).

I'm guessing that when you build the code, it is not specifying a target platform, but the included .dll's are for 32-bit so there is a mismatch on 64-bit.

Can you try modifying your project and specifying that it should build for 32-bit? Then I believe that we can install it on either a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows system and it should work ok.

Re wrote the theTVdb.com xml read routine. A little more flexible. It seems to fix 'Gangland' error. I would be interested in seeing if this fixes a couple of 'illegal' characters in xml...

I think I set the program to compile for 32 bit only, forcing 64 bit Windows to use compatibility mode... (I don't have 64 bit to test)

The previous version got stuck again in last night's processing. I tried the new version (42518) this morning and it ran successfully but much slower (taking more than twice as long as Ultra usually takes). I did notice a message flash during the run that TVDB was off line. It must have been an intermittent situation because after the run I checked it from the TS page and it was on-line.

I will take robust operation over speedy processing any day.

Yeah, it runs under 64-bit XP now!

A couple of initial comments:

1. In the Status section of the Main tab, it says "Select an XMLTV file from Maint tab", but there isn't a "Maint" tab. I think that should be "Manual" now.

2. The status bar at the bottom says "This tab is currently unavailable." for all of the tabs.
