ok, no prob, just wanted to make sure you hadn't missed it. red_dwarf got us off-topic, so I thought the meaty bit might have escaped your attention.

if it would help to have a copy of my database, which still has next monday's 'Star Trek' stuck in it, I can e-mail it to you (it's about 6MB, so even zipped it's probably too big to attach here). just pm me if needed.

Interesting comment. What I sometimes experience (meaning it has happened more than once) seems to be that GB-PVR does only the first part of what's described, "deletes all pending episodes of a season recording." The second part, the re-matching, does not occur, or perhaps fails, for some season recordings. The result is that, after an EPG update, there can be a half-dozen season recordings still present in the Recurring list, yet none of the individual shows for these programs are marked for recording or in the Pending list. I often create a new Season Recording entry which does indeed schedule the shows, and then I go into the Recurring list and manually cancel the older Recurring entry.

My EPG updates are manually done via an XML file generated by SchedulesDirect. I am careful to apply the updates when the system is quiet, with no recordings underway.

The "unmarking" of these Recurring Recordings is not absolute - it does not happen on every Recurring Recording, nor does it happen on every EPG update I do. Makes it hard to debug! It -might- have something to do with whether there is still some "EPG left" in the system: when I did the update this morning, I had none left, meaning that my grid was filled with "No details" for every channel.

The occasional loss of Recurring recordings happens with the current GB-PVR and also with the previous release.

If do an 'update epg' from the system menu, then post your pvrx2.exe.log and a list of the names/times of the shows that didnt get scheduled, I should be able to tell you why.

sub, I know you're away from home (closer to my home I gather), but I wanted to update this thread with the latest occurance since it's gotten me in dutch with the wife tonight...

Tonight's "Dancing with the Stars" only recorded 1.5 hours, but the show was 2 hours long. The last three dances were cut off, earning me (and by proxy, you) a dirty look from the wife. It shows in the TV Guide as 1.5 hours, followed by a 30 minute 'No Show Details' block. Clearly another case where the show was originally 1.5 hours in the EPG, and was scheduled that way. When the show was changed to two hours in the EPG download, GB-PVR wouldn't accept the change. The usual evidence is attached.

The relevant bit of this morning's zap2it.xml clearly shows the program was to start at 8:00pm local time (3:00am gmt), and last 2 hours and 2 minutes.
Code:
<schedule program='EP007473660153' station='19570' time='2009-05-05T03:00:00Z' duration='PT02H02M'....

bump since you're back home and presumably working on the next release; I'm hoping whatever is causing this will be fixed in 1.4

this has happened a couple more times since then, but posting the same stuff again would be redundant

Just happend to me as well.

"Primeval" failed to record again this week (this is now two weeks running), because they changed the scheduled start time ..again! Most annoying !

I continue to experience this issue with 1.4.7. Tonight's occurance did not actually cause a problem, it just created a duplicate entry for the same show - the first entry was recorded, the second was not. The little red sliver between "House" and "Lie to Me" is another "Lie to Me" (that's the one I actually have selected). The second Lie to Me is at exactly the same time, and has the same description. Some minor thing must have changed about the listing, and again as before, GB-PVR would not accept the change to the already scheduled program and thus created an overlapping program entry.
The recording service-1 log should contain the relevant entries. I've also included this morning's zap2it.xml for reference. It only has 1 "Lie to Me" listed for today.

A little follow up, the zap2it data actually shows that it was trying to change House to 8:00pm-9:01pm, and Lie to Me to 9:01-10:00pm:
Code:
<schedule program='EP006883590120' station='20450' time='2009-10-20T03:00:00Z' duration='PT01H01M' tvRating='TV-14' stereo='true' hdtv='true' closeCaptioned='true' dolby='Dolby' new='true'/>
<schedule program='EP011063720018' station='20450' time='2009-10-20T04:01:00Z' duration='PT00H59M' tvRating='TV-14' stereo='true' hdtv='true' closeCaptioned='true' dolby='Dolby' new='true'/>
GB-PVR accepted neither change, and recorded both for 1 hour; the last few moments and credits for House are on the beginning of the Lie to Me recording.
