Have you done any work on this much?

# Provide mediaMVP support for List Mode and Dynamic Source content.
# Add “Record” button to trigger recording streams as files (MPEG/AVI/???) for later viewing via GB-PVR.

The Wiki says 2.2 is the latest, anything since then?

I'd just released 2.2 when sub released GB-PVR 1.x. So then I scrambled to tweak that release so that it would at least work with pvrx2.exe. And then I started on the (non-trivial) task of converting UbuStream to use the new plugin architecture so it would be a true pvrx2 plugin rather than just pvrx2-compliant. Of course (Murphy's Law) I then got a new job that demanded my full attention, so UbuStream had to take a back seat. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to it later in the year. No definite plans though.

The wiki is correct. UbuStream V2.2 is the latest. However, the wiki pages themselves document v2.0 (I never got around to updating them). However, v2.2 contains many, many more features than v2.0. These are documented ion the README file. The main UbuStream wiki page contains the following:

Quote:Note: the documentation on these wiki pages pertains to the v2.0 release of UbuStream. For additional documentation relating to new or changed features in v2.1 and v.2.2, please refer to the README file to be found in the gbpvr\Plugins\UbuStream folder.
I think you'll find both the features you mention are present in v2.2. When you pick a station in list mode, the pop-up panel gives you the option to play it in either Preview, External or Timeshift mode. If you pick Timeshift mode, you can watch it with your MVP. (There's a config option that lets you choose Timeshift as your default mode which means that pressing the Play button on the menu or on your remote control will automatically start the stream in Timeshift Play mode).

There is also a "Record" button on the main menu. This will start transcoding the stream to MPEG2 (for later playback via GB-PVR) using the settings you specified in the UbuStream config app for the file location and the recording duration. The stream will not be displayed while it is being recorded. The recording is handled by a background task so you can continue using GB-PVR while the recording is occurring (but I'd imagine trying to play another stream at the same time might be a bit of a stretch, though  ).

I think there's another button (I don't have access to my GB-PVR system right now so I'm speaking from memory) on the main menu labelled "Snapshot" that allows you to make permanent the on-the-fly recording being used for the Timeshift play session. This was intended more for audio streams (as in "I really liked that last song they played. I'd like to keep the temporary mp3 that VLC is creating for GB-PVR playback") but it should work for video streams too.

These features all assume that the stream you choose is transcodable to MPEG on-the-fly by VLC. (No different from the requirements for MVP use with the original Channel mode). Some streams that play fine in List mode may not be transcodable (for several reasons). For instance, I don't guarantee that all the DynamicSource stations will work flawlessly on the mediaMVP.

If you download v2.2 and run the setup app, you'll find a ReadMe file for the v2.2 release that documents all the new features including these ones.

The wiki is correct. UbuStream V2.2 is the latest.

Was reading trought the forums and found out that the Community Skin was updated for this pluging: "Started UbuStream as a supported plugin (Front end works, pop up dialogs fail). "

Installed once, but since does not have the PVR2 architecture didn't work as I wanted. Had to make to many things on my dev box, and didn't wanted to go trought this on my HTPC.

So are into releasing any new version?

Ubu is quite open to this. As an example he and I talked and I plan on updating Uburadio if it stops working but right now "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I won't take on support, but it seems to work the same now as it already did, using the original blue skin and skin folder. Don't confuse not working with a skin with not working.

I don't use Ubustream but there are several people that seem to have it working with 1.13 and Ubu probably answered any typical support question already, it is quite stable and if you browse this sub forum you probably will find the answers.
