oh and can anyone not using the default gbpvr.mdb test this and see if the "Paused Movies" works (since i had to look in the gbpvr database to get it to work, using the connectionstring in the config.xml file, so it *should* work ).
I don't suppose a "Watched" virtual folder at the root would be a small addition?
Basically, if you have any seen shows with a resume point, a "Watched/Seen" (call it what you want) folder appears at the virtual root containing those shows you've not finished watching yet.
This would tie in nicely with the new resume tracking. Though not knowing how you manage the data internally, this could either be easy, or a royal PITA
yeah i was thinking of adding it to the virtual root, it would make navigation easier, but harder to implement. i did make {f7} = cycle thru actors/filelist/paused however.
When selecting virtual roots, it tells you how many items are in each one, before you set into one.
If you have subdirectories under a virtual root, it would be nice if it did the same thing for the subdirectories. Either that, or some other way of indicating there's videos in a directory.
I place my tv episodes in a directory per program. It's not easy to tell without going into each directory, if there's something to watch.
Another option might be to not display empty subdirectories.
why would you have a directory with no files? i dont like the idea of displaying that kind of thing (someone asks for it before), its not how i designed my videos to work.
Each show gets it's own directory. After watching an episode, I delete it to allow room for other recordings. When all episodes are deleted, an empty directory for the show remains.
When browsing the TV shows virtual directory, it's hard to tell which subdirectories have episodes and which don't, without going in/out of each one.
Originally, I was placing them all in the main virtual root "TV shows" named Program - Episode. The problem was, when My Videos did a lookup, it would change the displayed name to just the episode, making it not so easy to figure out what show it was.
I wouldn't mind an option to have My Videos always display the title from the filename, rather than from the db, like it does before it does a lookup. In that case, I could go back to my original naming scheme and loose the sub-folders.
Another nice option would be a way to signify a virtual root as either "TV" or "Movie" mode, so that lookups properly used the correct method. If it knows a virtual root contains tv shows, hitting the red button will do a tv tome lookup, instead of an IMDB lookup.
Maybe it already handles alot of this, and I'm just managing it incorrectly.
errr, sorry for late reply, i dont like the idea of displaying how many vids in a folder, and i dont like not displaying empty folders (if a folder is empty i usually delete it in my videos).
just wondering if anyone has run into any bugs ? (except for tipstirs bug, since i cant test or fix that)
nah i havent had a chance to include support for external players, its test time at uni, so i wont be able to do anything really for a couple of weeks.
