New MPC-HC codecs available

there's a new set of MPC-HC codecs and player available...h264 is really sweet even on lesser cards now...and he got h264 working on intel G45! finally a xp solution..
all the codecs seem more efficient and smooth without glitches,even on my agp HD3450..
[which previously was bit glitchy,while HDx650s were perfect]

not sure what's needed for h264 livetv but somebody should try it to see...

I was just about to post this.

MPEG-2 users should know that you need the Mpeg2DecFilter.ax which is the "MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)". It will be the video decoder used for DVDs and other MPEG-2 video like US broadcasts/cable tv.

H.264 and most other types of video would use MPCVidDec.ax which is the "MPC - Video decoder"

yea, they changed the name of the executable for the player, now mpc-hc.exe..
and all codecs packaged inside one zip, not separates like before..
not sure if any changes to the mpeg2 codec, and i just use the VC1 and h264 from MPCHC Video Decoder...i don't think the others in it are dxva accelerated, but they do work well..

changelog says streaming efficiency is improved, likely what i'm seeing, and Support for Dolby Digital+ (Eac3) and Dolby true HD (MLP) and mediainfo.dll for more detailed info inside app...[and on hover over file in explorer]


so now it's totally capable of bluray playback by itself..
[well except for anydvdhd for decryption..]

One more thing to mention: If you want to use the filters with GBPVR, you need to download the x86 versions, not the x64. This applies even if you are running an x64 Windows install.

Any chance of one of you smart chaps having a go with this new codec and H264 LiveTV before the next GBPVR version is released?? I've still got some problems with liveTV and Cyberlink/CoreAVC and find the MPC codec the best for bluray playback and would love to give it a go for liveTV.

Sorry, but only on DXVA2 = Vista + Win7
So no DXVA for h.264 on XP, stupid intel

BTW, SAF using same filters and setup all automaticly.

ahhh,but not true, i have seen evidence of dxva2 in xp by using evr...
[using dxvachecker dxva logging] and a video card that only had dxva2 accell and it was working so it had to be dxva2...and didn't work without evr..
[and the dxva logs specifically mentioned dxva2 instead of dxva1/2 or just dxva1]
now the g45 may have other problems with it's drivers that preclude this, which wouldn't surprise me, so i'll give it a shot later to see...
i never really had problems getting h264 to work in xp, it was mpeg2! that never worked, and that is needed far more than 264 just yet...till dvd's die it will always be needed and even some bdroms are mpeg2 still..
i wrote off my intel g45 soon after i got it...piece of crap...fan control is a joke...acceleration still doesn't work unless you use cyberlink...but no problem in Vista...they never said that it would be vista+ only in their ads...but no serious efforts to fix the drivers have been seen..
[only on vista side] and seems like they dropped xp dev. altogether..

it'll be another generation of chips before there's a decent integrated video board...
none of the current models really handle video with ease...they're on the bleeding edge of doing it at all, with no breathing room and numerous glitches..
but get a card just a step above, and everything's golden...

oh and btw, the mpeg2 demux in newest set doesn't work right...stutters..
went back to 1.2.908 and back to working right...
[it's nice, demuxes .mpg,.ts,*and* .m2ts easily]
set it as preferred demux in config for bluray play..
