My wife is away for a couple of days so I figured it was time to upgrade. That way if there was a glitch, I would have time to fix it before she got back. LOL.

Everything went smooth for the most part.

I did have a minor hickup when it came to playing back my recordings. They always wanted to fill the screen in auto. The videos played fine at the proper aspect ratio. I tried all different codecs with the same results. Then I decided to try live tv. It worked fine, so I recorded a show. It played fine when it was done. However, all previously recorded shows always play at full screen now. It is like they lost their aspect ratio information. I can watch them by selecting pillar box using F7, but I don't always keep my keyboard out in the tv room. Its more for support use. Has this been an issue for anyone else and is there a fix so my other recordings will play properly without having to F7 when changing from a pre-upgrade recording to a post-upgrade recording and back.

Reproduce the problem and post the logs in the support forum and I'll look into it.

Includes all the ts playback improvements supplied as patches to 1.3.11, plus a few more improvements recently.

Well possibly, but it looks like it needs WinLirc and the whole setup gets a bit messy. I've alredy put in some effort and countless hours of getting gbpvr + mce remote receiver + Logitech harmony remote to control my HTPC experiance to 100%. From the remote I can control the whole HTPC concept from standby to on and off, viewing TV programs, recordings, video, DVD and music as well as control the TV set and projector. The "WAF" effect is top notch Wink
I would rather not go through that again if the "solution" is to run 32 bit Win 7.

Are there other significant advantages with 64 bit other than > 3 GB RAM that I am not thinking of?

Finally got around to upgrading mine (had a morning off with no recordings in progress). All went well.

Everyone do heed sub's advice to backup your config.xml - as with the last upgrade, it tossed out my custom Aspect Ratio Modes, which were again easy to replace by cutting/pasting from the backup.

Thanks much sub for the new version and all the changes & improvements. It's quite wonderful to find little changes I asked for implemented. My wife is almost impressed when I show her some feature and proudly declare that "I asked the programmer to put that in for you"... of course most changes she seems pretty oblivious to, or at best I get "well if you like it better that way then that's great for you...". Ah, wives...

Try viewing an encrypted channel in live tv, then post the logs in the support thread and I'll take a look.
