Is this possible? We like to move the PC with GBPVR into another room (the office) and still use it to record and show movies on the tv, which is in the living room. Is it posible to change channels, start recordings etc. using a remote control in the living room? At the moment we have an Hauppauge PVR-150. What more do we need to accomplish this?
I have thought about using maybe Popcorn, Playstation 3 or perhaps Seagate SGFAMPTV or Trekstore TSANTAURIUS.
Any other good ideas?

Use a remote control extender, the wireless type.

Yes, the only disadvantage is that, I think the MediaMVP does'nt have HDMI or HD-possiblities. But if it is only one, to make the remote-controlling from another room, then I guess I will have go for that one.

You said you were considering the Popcorn Hour. It does everything the MVP does, better and faster, and it does do HD. It also supports many more SD files types too. However with just a PVR 150 you can't create any file that the MVP can't play, so you have to consider your file source(s) too.

No, I can't get HD with PVR150, but I may change to some DVB-C with HD later, if it is possible.

What about PS3? Have you any experience using that together with GBPVR?

How do you connect the computer to the TV? I've run SVideo over 30ft with no apparent signal loss and I've heard you can do 50 or more. Then all you need is an RF remote with good range. I've used my Gyration MCE remote from 30 feet away through walls. You just set the TV as a secondary monitor, and tell PVRX2 to run launch the second monitor.

I use about 10 meters of VGA cable, but when we move the PC it maybe around 15 meters. But the RF remote control sounds like a pretty good idea. Can you recommend a RF universal remote control to use with Hauppauge PVR-150?
