Hi everyone!

I have just downloaded GBPVR and am trying to get it set up to receive Freeview, Freesat, some channels from 19.2E and the MPEG4 DTT service from the ROI.

I have tried to set up the DVB-T side of things but a scan is not bringing anything up. I have went through the sticky with the walkthrough and checked the settings and they are what i believe to be correct but a scan still finds nothing. Can anyone offer any help?

Also, I would like to set up my dish which is on a Diseqc for 28,2E and 19.2E. I notice too that Eurobird is set up as a seperate satellite too, so do I have to then set up 3 different tuning parameters for each satellite or is there a setting that will do at least the 28.2/28.5 in one?

Many thanks for any help!

Can you do a DVB-T scan, then zip and attach your config.exe.log and cofnig.exe-native.log?

You probably need to setup three capture sources, each with the appropriate diseqc setting and satellite selection. You'll also need to have a card that GB-PVR can do diseqc on (Hauppauge, Twinhan, maybe FireDTV).

My card is a Hauppauge HVR-4000.

Astra 1 is on Disecq A and Astra 2/Eurobird are on Diseqc B, will the system allow 2 satellite positions at the same Diseqc input?

I'm quite sure I have missed something simple, I trust I will be slapping myself in the head shortly for being so silly!

Thanks for your help!

It failed to start your device, so no data was ever delivered to the app. What version of windows are you using?

I'm not the best person to answer these questions, because I only use one satellite. I would have thought an LNB could only be receiving satellite signals from one part of the Sky. If two satellites are very close together though, and using different frequencies, then they could be received via the same LNB, in which case you can setup two capture sources - one for each satellite, both with the same diseqc settings.

I'm using Windows Vista SP1.

The device works sometimes in Vista Media Centre but when it doesnt it is due to a video procesing file missing or not working correctly, the scan still brings the channels up when searching for them...

OK, I disabled the DTT tuner, restarted Windows and enabled it and it seemed to work, all channels now tuned in fine. Audio is out of sync on some channels though. I still can't tune in the MPEG-4 channels, is there a seperate option to be changed for that incase it is set to find only MPEG-2 channels?

This is most likely related to the decoders you're using. Reproduce the problem, then post your pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Other than decoders used to display these channels, MPEG4 channels are exactly the same as MPEG2 channels at scan time.

Are you not setting the channels at all in the list found? Are you sure its scanning the correctly frequencies for your region? Maybe try scanning 'all countries / all regions' if you havnt already.

I am in work now so I won't get posting any files until I get home. The channels all have perfect sync in WMC (when it works) so I guess it's just changing the audio renderer option until I find one that gives me the best results?

The MPEG-4 channels are not showing up at all in a scan, I have already tried the all countries and all regions setting and even a manual scan on the frequency and even on it's offset but still nothing.

Any MPEG2 channels I have found have been renumbered but I can't seem to find an option to rename them, is this possible in GBPVR?

I'd make sure you leave the audio renderer on 'system default' since other options can cause sync issues. If you still have the problem, then try other audio/video decoder combinations.

Post the logs and I'll see if anything stands out. My guess is its just not scanning the right frequencies for your broadcasts, or you dont get good enough reception of these specific frequencies. Have you seen any other software find these channels on your machine?

There is no functionality for renaming them. The names come from the EPG source.

Thanks for your help!

Setting up different satellite positions as different capture sources allows you to set the diseqc option per capture source. Thus, you will need one for Astra1 and the other for Astra2/Eurobird. You can treat Astra2/Eurobird as a single source. They share the full downlink frequency range betweem them, so essentially, they are a single satellite position.
Setting up different capture sources will also be a must due to different EPG sources. Astra1 mostly has DVB-EPG while on Astra2, you will need an xmltv-EPG.
