You're reasoning was exactly why I dumped Comcast, I'd had enough of them too. Verizon did give me a bit of a price break that holds for two years. I have to admit though if they hadn't I still would have dumped Comcast, just on general principals. Their clear QAM channels was the only thing holding me to them.

Well, lie is maybe kinda strong. You will need a converter box, unless of course you have a TV with a digital tuner or a PC card with the same. Let's just call it sort of mis-leading, much like any political speech you these days.

No, I told them I don't need a converter box for OTA because I have a digital tuner, they said that I would still need one. They also said their move to digital was forced on them by the government. I call those lies.

Yup, across most disciplines. When I got my first tech support job at an ISP the guy who "trained" me knew virtually nothing about computers. What he did know what callers, and when he told me 95% of them just needed to retype their passwords, I scoffed. Who would waste their own time and mine for that? Answer: about 95% of them.



The first line of techs are designed to keep crap off the desks of people who know what they're doing. Unless you don't know how to plug stuff in, escalate.
