Hello, I have doing some testings for streaming video to my psp, using VLC in the server and using a software called "PMPVLC" in the psp client.
I have got good results with the following commands in the target setup of the stream output:

Quote: Confusedout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=600,width=480,height=272,fps=25,venc=x264{me=dia,subme=1,analyse=none,bframes=0,b-adapt=none,chroma-me=none,merange=1},acodec=mp3,ab=64,channels=2}Confusedtd{access=http,mux=ts,url="ip : port"}

Is it possible to setup manually in "EWA" exactly this parameters?

When I select the video encoder H264 in transcoding option of EWA I´m very confused with the parameters like "quantizer", "key int", etc.

Any idea for the corrects values?

Thanks.

The defaults for the H264 Encoder are close to this so try without changing anything.

The mux should be set to TS on the trascode tab and use 512 or LAN as the video bitrate on the Player Opts tab.....set video size to preset and 320x213 would be the closest to what you posted.

Let me know if it works.

Well, I set te defaults settings in h264 tab, but i get only a few seconds of video in PSP and suddenly the device "freezes". I think the problem is in the client vlc, and not in the vlc server.

In fact, the software "PMPVLC" only works well with a special version compiled in order to fit PSP. This is a mod version of vlc 0.8.6a, but when I try to run "EWA" h264 transcoding over this version, the process "crash" too and disappear of the Task Administrator, so EWA and 0.8.6a aren´t good friends xD.

I`m going to try other ways, for example: the software "pspdisp" allow to use a psp like a second monitor and run gbpvr in it.

I think I should have originally posted this here, rather that General Support section - here. Please see below:

Quote:I'm not sure whether this section or EWA plug-in is more appropriate for this question, but I will give it a try first.

1. When streaming is initiated from EWA web interface, VLC process is launched. All is well, but when stream is stopped, it seems that VLC is getting completely shutdown, including any other VLC instance that was open at the same time. Could this be modified so that only the instance which is actually streaming the content is being closed?

2. H.264 settings - any chance to give us more control over main parameters, like video and audio bitrate, frame rates or resolution? Presets like 256k, 512k, LAN, etc are OK but would that be any more trouble to give us an option to manually set those values?
For example, I noticed that when transcoding HDTV to e.g. 460x320 preset resolution (or manually), VLC is keeping framerate at 60fps, which is not quite desired. In that case I would like to be able to set framerate at e.g. 30fps but as far as I can see, there's no place to do it.

Is there any settings file that I can modify to get this to work perhaps?

Any chance for that to happen? Thanks!

Possibly.....but I think I did look into that early on and was unable to get the handle of the process that gets started. I will look into this again....but can't make any promiseses.

Correct...there is no place to do it. I have contemplated adding a VLC command string option in the Config window (basically override all presets) allowing users to enter there prefered command line for streaming.

The problem is support.....you unlock the door and you get a ton of support questions/problems that are not really related to EWA. That is why I went with the hard-coded settings so that there is control an manageability in support for the feature that meet the majority of peoples needs.

No....the VLC streaming setup is done via Class object of the VLC command options and the code instantiates the object and sets the properties based on settings entered in the UI.
