Since the retune a lot of the ini files are wrong.
I find that selecting "all regions" finds the missing channels during a scan

If there is any UK based user that wants to donate a new set of UK .ini files, I'll gladly take them and include in the next release.

I've been searching as I was sure someone posted that there was an updated list of ini files, but I can't find them.

I guess you don't want individual updates from folk around the country? but would prefer a fully updated list?.

Is there any significance to the nnnn.ini or does config just scan the lot and pull the region/transmitter out ? Could they be renamed to something like belmont.ini instead of 0069.ini ??? If so then I could contemplate maintaining an updated list.

A full list would definitely make it easier, but I guess I'll take what I can get.

They can be renamed. The only reason it'd be nice to use the same file names is because this would continue to show the correct transmitter selection for existing capture sources. (otherwise it'll default back to "all countries/all regions")

Happy to help.

I think my initial false assumption that C32 was the bad one was because the ScanChannelsBDA program somehow managed to lock the frequency at 562000kHz even though it's actually at 562166kHz, the log says as much. It looks like the tuner fune-tuned the frequency on it's own, as it almost fails at 562000 and then locks at the last moment before it was going to try the offsets. So the freq. for C32 in the 0113.ini is actually correct.

It doesn't look like there's any such shenanigans with C28 though, it fails at 530000kHz and then locks immediately at 530166kHz. So I think C28 ought to be changed to 530166, even if it does work set at 530000.

OK, I'll make a start of importing the ini files to something and go through them and update them from the published figures.

If anyone has taken the time to tweak their own or know of errors in the published lists then please let me know at uk.freeview.channels [at] gmail.com and I'll try to maintain a list.

I have checked about 20 of the transmitters listed at ...

http://www.ukfree.tv/txlist.php

and I found none that have changed frequencies since 1998 except Rowridge in March 2009 as discussed at ...

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...dge&page=2

and the transmitters that have switched to digital only. The digital switchover schedule is at ...

http://www.ukfree.tv/closedown.php

I googled for, and did not find, .ini files for the post-switchover channels/frequencies.

A potential hiccup with creating post-switchover .ini files is mux BBCB which may be a DVB-T2 mux as described at ...

http://www.mediaspy.org/report/2009/10/1...-services/

and (click on 5, Freeview HD)

http://wapedia.mobi/en/Freeview_%28UK%29#5.

And finally, should any new .ini files include the frequency offset or should we rely on the tuner to scan the offset automatically and/or the GBPVR config option?

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...eous#toc10

I'll make and email .ini files for Mendip when my headache is better.

Good Luck

Hi Graham, I've imported the ini's to excel and am slowly comparing with ukfree.tv and tweaking as I go along. So far, the only channel changes have been with those that have switched to digital.
I was just going to include the dvb-t2 mux as the only real reason for the ini files is to reduce scanning time from scanning a whole band and 1 extra freq shouldn't make much difference (says he in hope).
I have seen that some have the offset included - I guess it would be better to include the offset as that may reduce scan time as well. I see ukfree.tv shows this with channel number with a +or - after it.

If you post a copy of the spreadsheet, I'll start inputting stuff to create ini files for transmitters that will switchover in the future.

Files with names like 0108.070410.ini can sit in the BDA folder waiting to be renamed when required.

What we need is a volunteer to write a liitle program that renames files based upon the date that the program is run. Any offers?

After having done only three lines - I think I'll change from a spreadsheet to something else that makes input easier and channel to frequency lookup easier! It might be a bit easier when I use the big montor in teh shack rather than this smaller one, VNC'ing into it.
I chucked in a field for live/future where a date could go to be tacked onto the filename/
