Sorry about telling you what you already knew, I didn't re-read the whole thread & had forgotten the early messages.......sorry I can't help you as I can't figure out what exactly you are trying to achieve, but Martin seems to know what you are asking for.

On re-reading I think wsmaal has decided GB-PVR isn't for him, but when I got the system to myself today (boss gone to work) I had a play/test.

I removed all my modified files & reverted back to as it was when I finished the dummies install & found when selecting the mapped share from the network source screen selecting the fourth option (no blue button on this remote) then selecting GB-PVR.html then selecting GB-PVR via Network Browser I get a "Request cannot be processed" message, but if I browse to the share with the network browser & then do all the same things from there it works fine.

This also happens after loading GB via Network Browser successfully & then going back out (usb eject twice) & then trying to reload without going through the network browser, but if I back out to the browser & then select the share again etc etc. it will then work?

I'm pretty sure wsmaal still wants to use mvpmcx2, but he wants to use the CSI install process which loads it onto a local drive and provides a Source link The problem he identified was that he can't get back to the NMT menu when he starts using the CSI approach. Unfortunately I have no idea how CSI works its magic so I can't help.

Your problem sounds related to the issue of trying different login methods in GB-PVR.HTML without a power-off

Martin.

Actually I did a couple of complete power off's as in turned the power switch on the back off for 30 seconds & tried again with the same result, this happen with or without HDD connected.

Correct. The state of Networked Browser is not maintained, it will go back to your previous saved source so Option 1 would probably work.

Huh?? You lost me totally???

If I decide I want to use the via network browser option not the normal method (which from the way I read it is sort of what wsmaal is trying to do) how would I achieve it without having to go through the network browser everytime I wanted to load GB?

You can't. Networked Browser is primarily for debugging and testing the guest mvpmc share, not for "real" use. CSI is a completely different method of loading mvpmcx2 from a hard disk.

OK I just did a bit more playing, I deleted all my saved network sources on the M34a & cold booted, selected from the network browser & all was fine, usb-eject twice & it took me back to the network browser screen.

I then added a saved network source for mvpmc, cold boot & tried to load via the gb-pvr.html file from this source I then selected the via network browser option & got the cannot be processed message. Which I guess is the correct behavior as you are supposed to be loading via the network browser not a saved source.....but this sounds similar to the problem wsmaal could be having....maybe?

Yep soory the old brain is a bit slow today & it just took it a LOT longer to catch up than it normally does......yes I know the CSI install is different & has other things that can be done with it as well....but I am "trying" to learn about this stuff....sometimes not so successfully :o

Not similar at all. You need to add an external SATA drive, format it and install the NMT apps, and finally run CSI to install mvpmcx2 to duplicate wsmaal.
