Phantom tuner (client / server issue)

Hi, so here are the basics...

A. PC has NPVR, no tuner, works ok, shared data folder
B. PC has NPVR (same version), with tuner, can see it in NPVR

I connect B to A (B acts as client PC to A), now A shows the tuner that B has, however A doesnt have a card in the physical machine.

I disconnect B from A, A still shows the tuner, now crashes when i check on status, so how do i clear the tuner from the database on A even though theres no tuner in machine A?

It seems like you're doing things backwards - your client has a tuner, but the server doesn't? I'm sure sub did not account for that possibility, so that's probably why odd things ended up in the database.

Your best bet will be to just shutdown nrecord and then run NextPVR.exe -emptydb

There’s a reason why this is the case, the server would have a number of tuners, however the particular machine i am working on (the client) has a PAL tuner i need for the Dolby Trade agreement in place at the moment, i didn’t think it was going to shoot "tuner data" all over the place in the PVR, it didn’t in the older one.

Which database will this command ("NextPVR.exe -emptydb"), empty, i assume nothing in the record or will it reset the whole install to new?

UPDATE:

That fixed it, removed the tuner, allowed settings to work and the MVP again.

I'm sure allowances for unexpected use cases will come in the future as NPVR moves past the 'big bugs' and 'big missing features' stages and into the polishing phase.
