I have 2 cable boxes I want to use. One has RCA outputs, and one only has Coax channel 3/4 output.

Can I set up my Hauppauge 500 to use these 2 boxes? If so, how?

Currently I only have 1 capture source set. It's for the Haup 500, Capture Device #1, Fixed Channel External tuner, tuning Cable, channel 4.

I might try other board numbers. Because I have a Haup 150, but I haven't connected it to anything yet. (That'll be later.)

Yea, capture device 2 gets me signals, but my IR blaster is funked. I see the red light blink, but the IR doesn't signal.

(You can use most cell phone cameras to check if an IR device is signaling.)

When you say the IR blaster isn't working, is it trying to control a Comcast DTA like the Pace DC50X? If so, I ran into a similar problem. I replaced my old Microsoft beanbag (the IR receiver/transceiver) with a new one from HP. The old one could learn the signals from the DTA's remote but not transmit them. pBS, who knows significantly more about these things than me, was pretty helpful. Another thing I ran into was that the HP beanbag has two ports on the back for blasters, but seems to support only port #2. I ended up putting a headphone splitter in port 2 and sticking the two IR blasters into that.

setup for cap card 1, device #2, to use composite inputs, with blaster for channel changer...

remermber, when learning ir codes, to place remote touching receive window..
and when blasting, same thing, place it directly touching receive eye window..
these things don't have much power, and tube lights can make noise for it..
you have to run blastcfg to configure the stb codes for the blaster..if it works in there then it'll work in gbpvr..

you need 2 separate blasters..
the 150 and 500 blasters are pretty much same..and don't think you can use 2 of those same time..so need an alternative if you have 2 stbs...

i'd get a cheap MCE2005 remote with dual blasters, it can control more than one stb at same time thru several methods..
can go with no-software route, or use hip or almost any other remote controller program..Smile
blasting is built-in, or also can use hip or my mceblast or other programs..
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie
